MMR will murder this game.

I honestly feel like MMR will deter people from playing high level. Ive gotten nothing but spirits nurses and the occasional windstorm wraith. I have not enjoyed survivor. And because i play ever killer I get a top sweat swf every match. Theres nothing enjoyable about consistently playing this way. Good luck with this if you keep this nonsense. I will definitely be retiring.

Well it's going to have to wait in line to do it.

We know that the rank was reset to zero for everyone for this Testphase and it’s been not on for too long. It’s very much likely that those killers (spirit, nurse, wraith) just got to their high mmr faster than other killers.

you really can’t determine from an individual perspective if mmr is working or not. You need the data and statistical analysis.

I was honestly sacrificed each match but i of course pipped. I was solo so i was playing like a solo should playing to pip not escape and the swf I am sweating but 4k and I dont want to have to every match sweat. I didnt see anything wrong with the old rank system I was still getting good survivors and killer.

You can die every match and still be useful to your team. As for your killer games maybe don't sweat? I don't mean to sound patronising, if you're getting matched against good swf teams, and killing them, it makes sense that the system will make it even harder for you. If you want more casual games, run off-meta stuff and play more, well, casual

My experience as killer is bad so far, i only get sweaty squads with my mains which play like they're in a tournament. The only time i managed to get more than 2k (and those 2k were mostly in endgame) was when i played with best possible add ons and perks and did go full sweat mode (stuff like making sure someone goes into second stage). I even had a survivor with 8k hours (never saw something like that before).

Survivor is ok so far, there was greater variety in playstyles and skillset.

But in general, my experience is the same as in the last test.

Going along with what another person said, it's impossible to prove what you're claiming unless we have the actual stats. Spirit and Nurse weren't even close to the highest kill rates even on the old ranking system. You are getting worked up over nothing.

i sort of agree, nothing good can really come from MMR in a game like dbd (unless they add a casual mode, but i doubt they would)

youll basically be punished for playing well since you’ll have to go against sweat squads/killers every game

This gives me giant Call of Duty Cold War vibes. And not in a good way. Cod players will understand

If the game is only viable with a broken matchmaking system, then it was never viable.

We need working MMR to highlight imbalances and make the game viable.

There's nothing balanced about "50% of matches are far too easy, and 50% are impossible"

In the opposite as a rank 1-2 surv i got 70% of time rank 17-18 killers facing 4 red ranks.. let me tell you that if the killer hit someone at least once in the match..

That isn't indicative that MMR is the problem (it isn't) but rather than Spirit, Nurse, and the new Wraith are issues. :)

Yup reason I dropped cod. Miserable with friends. I'll end up just playing less or not at all sadly. People are more than welcome to enjoy it, but I'd rather not be forced to play in a sbmm/mmr mode with no option of "unranked" so to say.

The big problem is that they never run these mmr tests longer than a day or two which is not nearly enough for individual players to find their spot.

Also people that don't want to endure to reach their spot and quit after a few games don't really help. Even in league of legends or other games there are at least 10 placement games to vaguely determine once rank and then they have to play even more to get where they belong.

Edit: behaviour is simply too scared from a bigger backlash from the already instable community. Normal matchmaking is already only partially tolerated accompanied by balance issue at different level which will never be correctly addressed without a proper matchmaking to set a functioning level fundament.

It's going to kill the game if they don't add some QoL buffs.

This is such an underrated comment. and i audibly laughed at it.

Yeah if sbm stays the same as it is now, I will end up quitting.

If I see the only few killers I will stop playing survivor. If I'm not able to play most killers at high mmr I'll stop playing killer.

The reason the game can be fun is due to the range of killers and perks used. Perks are already limited and honestly if killers are too then what's the point.

I dont mind versing any killer or even playing any killer but that dont mean I only wanna see the same 3 odd.

Like i always said though solos dont need buffs, if ranking (mmr) works then most killers will struggle, looks like i was right...

The death of DbD has been predicted since the game came out. I don't think a week has gone by that someone hasn't said THIS will kill the game. When it first came out I tried it, and it wasn't my cup of tea. The game wasn't there yet, at least not for me. I moved on and didn't complain about it or make some idiotic speech. When I came back years later, I was really impressed and have been having a blast. MMR joins the club, not very exclusive, of the countless things people say will kill the game. It might be a hard blow to Streamers who face ONLY potent SWFs but for most people, it will be fine.

The thing I don't think a lot of people understand is that the devs know how imbalanced the game is, we've been complaining for years and have had so many laughable tournaments, the new MMR isn't going to highlight anything new that we didn't know already. Survivors are broken at the highest level of play and there are only a handful of viable killers at that level, we've known this for years and a system forcing people to deal with that more consistently isn't going to change the devs priorities. It's just gonna annoy people and make some leave.

We've seen how stubborn the devs can be to making changes they don't want to, and we've seen how much progress they've made over the course of 5 years, is it better then nothing? Absolutely, and the game is definitely in a much better state, but that doesn't mean their gonna magically go any faster because a couple more people start complaining.

if they plan to put in an mmr they need a separate queue for it to be used in and show you what your mmr is then a casual playlist that has far looser bracket mixing. At the least if I'm being given an mmr score I at least want to know what it is.

  • ill_Boston_lli
    ill_Boston_lli Member Posts: 899

atleast for the killers yes. Survivor you can judge based on any survivor with the killers its based on them individually. The casual playlist is def a great idea if they implement this MMR system. This way if you dont want to go against nurse and spirit you wont have too. Also maye have a solo queue playlist which would be the ranked version for the killer. So like have a SWF option a Solo Survivor option then a ranked and casual killer option. Just my thoughts on this.

This is literally what the MMR in every single test has been doing.

This is literally what normal rank-based matchmaking has been doing, but every time MMR gets brought up, suddenly loads of forum posters are completely fine with the normal shitshow.

MMR was actually balanced for me, and many others. MMR tests are the best time to play killer as far as I'm concerned, as I finally get fair and balanced games.

These forums are a fraction of a certain subset of players, I was reading BHVR's facebook post about it earlier today and a huge portion of the replies there was praising this MMR test for being balanced and accurate.

Well you have to mess around every other game to avoid this. Just like deranking on purpose. I can't see this killing the game but the auto ban system might.

    ill_Boston_lli Member Posts: 899

well I mean I tried that whole mess about thing and nope. I even got sacrificed most of the time and still.
