Stress reduction 4 killer mains(mostly new)
Just looking out for our killer mains(don't want to burn them out).
1. If there are keys in the lobby, multiple survivors using the same character, and 4 tool boxes or 4 med kits in the lobby you might want to dodge. If you do continue on with flashlight players, use lightborn perk and ignore the clicky clicks...focus on the players who aren't trolling😂.
2. If during the load out screen you get a haddonfield map offering or a long map offering (ormond, McMillan, etc.) prepare yourself for a 3 gen end game situation. Trap the area if possible and pressure those gens.
3. Try to use some gen regression or slowdown perks(corrupt intervention, ruin/undying/pop/haunted grounds) and whispers or an aura reading perk like bbq. Make sure to know how to use the killers powers to your advantage (end loops quickly, higher mobility, trapping the area, etc.).
4. When u commit to a chase make sure you get a hit in the first 10 to 15 seconds and don't commit any longer unless you can secure a down...look for weaker links and tunnel players out of the game to make it a more manageable situation. If you can hook a survivor next to your 3 gen radius even better(don't camp but patrol the area). If a key comes I to play tunnel that player and camp a bit if you need to.
Thank you to our killer mains and if survivors are jerks to you remember YOU have the option to play something else and let them play lobby simulator in the evening hours. And try...don't give easy wins by picking trickster...that isnt fun for anyone😛
Be blessed and share your tips for killer mains😎.

Better solution for 2.: just restart the game

I would add: Don't worry about whether your opponents are having fun or not, unless you are having fun too. You as the killer are not responsible for it and the opponent doesn't pay attention to it either. Don't let salty messages and endchat get you down or disable them. Play the way you want, not the way they want. The game was designed that way, even if other players have a wrong expectation.

Stress reduction as a killer = play as survivor

You can also just stop taking it so seriously. Worked for me. I'm actually enjoying killer again. Outside of some problems I have with the game as a whole when I stopped focusing on getting at least a 3K every game and just went with the flow killer became chill for me again.
Not saying you can't play to win, but considering there's no real win/loss state just set your own goals for a match.

Efficient and relaxed play is not mutually exclusive. I play relaxed myself and it doesn't matter to me how many kills I make and whether I pip or not. I don't even want to be in the red ranks. But that doesn't mean that I have to make it easy for the survivors, I just don't get triggered in the match because I have no reason to.

I've been saying this over and over.
THANK YOU!
And shout out to the op, advice is appreciated👍🏾

Remember to have fun! It's easy to use meta perks and worry about winning, but mixing it up a bit is always a good thing.
1 -
Exactly. Thats what I do lol
1 -
Yes that should be the mantra for any game...it is a hobby for a reason. If you get tilted, play something else for a while.
0 -
Ah yes I forgot...if.the game is being held hostage after 10 minutes (no gen progress happening) make sure to record footage and report it. I know DC is not advised but in that situation i don't see why you should have to sit there and suffer while you could already be playing another killer game.
1 -
The problem is that by taking this attitude not only do you lose out on the "win" but also lose out on bloodpoints. you loose in every conceivable way possible and gain nothing for your efforts.
3 -
Survivor mode for me is like party mode, killer mode is play well or get humiliated. The meme of the focus required when playing either role really does some the game up 😅
2 -
And survivors please stop tbagging at the exit gates just leave...you want the killers to stick around for more games not think to hell with it...unless you like lobby simulator I guess🙄
4 -
I never dodge. How cowardly.

I'm not saying you don't have to try, just accept that its not the end of the world if you get outplayed and lose.
I used to take it so seriously and get genuinly pissed off when I lost, even if it was because of my own mistakes.
I think a lot of killers, myself included until recently, have a habit of getting too "into it" when playing. Like making an obvious mistake that the survivor capitalises on then getting angry about it because they feel like they deserve the win every match for some reason.
1 -
I commend you 4 fighting the good fight...I don't want potential new killers run off quickly though😂
2 -
Worst case you depip and try again against another team🤔
0 -
That's how I look at it now. I took a step back and realised its not worth getting stressed or angry. At the absolute maximum I used some good add ons or an offering that I can just get back from a Bloodweb within a match or two, if that.

Pretty much this. At the end of the day, these are strangers who you'll never meet or interact with on any meaningful level beyond this game. All that matters is what you get out of it.
0 -
I think that is what annoys people...I spent x amount of BP for this build and I don't earn enough if it back😂

Unless you become good rivals and help each other grow in the game

In my eyes the biggest problem is that trying to win/be the best is instinctively and socially programmed into us humans. Only the winner aka an alpha gets the best mate/most food and so on. And in the media industry it is most often depicted that the winner gets/takes it all.
I also stopped going for kills/pips/wins but more for bp/dailies/rift challenges. But i still have to actively remind myself to ignore the instinctive drive to compete and for example relaxe my tensed up shoulder during a close chase and simply let them run.

That is when you take a good break...the game will still be there when you come back whether its hours, days, or even months.

That's why I only play this game every few weeks. Only when I am in the mood for it.

Pretty much what the OP said. I disagree with the 'just be chill' types, because they offer no challenge and therefore no fun for me on either side, but there's a lot of good advice here.
My bit of advice, and one that has served me well: Exploit expected Survivor behavior. if they go for an instant unhook the first time you hook someone, assume they will continue doing so and patrol or camp the hell out of your hooks. If they unhook and hide, leaving the unhooked to die - kill the unhooked. Take advantage of every mistake they make; you are not there to be the survivors' entertainer. You are there to kill them.
3 -
On my profile I put "my game randomly crashes when I get sent to haddonfield and the game aka gidgeon meat plant, enjoy your queue!!" I only "crash" when I get sent with an offering not when the game actually decides.
2 -
That is the healthiest approach...some days I just play my daily killer and daily survivor and play something else on gamepass (not everyday needs to be a sweaty killer day😂)

I relieve stress by playing games, the hardest, most challenging I can find.
1 -
My computer also weirdly crashes in the loading screen every time someone uses a Haddonfield or game offering
0 -
I've been warned sternly for admitting to DC'ing, even though everyone does it. Might wanna not be so overt about it.
As for relieving stress... Same. I don't understand people who find challengeless pastimes fun or relaxing.
0 -
Yeah it is unfortunate that you cant see the map offering until that screen but then I am sure every other person would back out of haddonfield and ormond lobbies😂. The game isnt to bad with wraith just use the break things tremoundously add on and it becomes fun(with the aura reading iridescent if you want to be really evil).
0 -
And last minute key or all flashlight squads...getting back to the next game is quicker as killer than survivor in the evenings😁
5 -
No, not everyone does it. That is simply wrong.
0 -
It might be a bit toxic but if I play killer and suspect it's a SWF I wait until 6 seconds left and then lobby dodge. It's an old habit.
2 -
Last-minute switcheroos get punished. I make sure to make the trial as slow, painful and unfun as possible, rank and BP be damned. None of them get out with more than 10k points.
1 -
Nah some of us killer mains perfer not to be trash. I'm not going to purposely ruin someone's game. If you farm your teammate, I'm letting them go and making sure you die. But I don't need to camp or tunnel to do that. And posts like yours make me glad the devs sometimes seem more on the survivors sides. I mean that's a reason they said they are changing moris again because killers have been toxic again with them by tunneling off every hook so they are going to make killers work for them.
2 -
I am curious what killers do you play? 😊
0 -
That is cruel you are getting their hopes up😂...I only do it if they start choosing the same character or all of a sudden it goes from 1 item to all 4 suddenly carrying something(they can coordinate against my backing out of the lobby)😅
0 -
You're not a Killer main. You're a carebear disguised as a Killer; one of those 'I am better because I handicap myself to be a dancing monkey' types. You are dismissed.
3 -
Or do it like me, play Shadowborn only Trapper without Traps.
0 -
And you're gatekeeping how people are allowed to play the game by dismissing everyone who doesn't sweat for the victory. Not everyone is hyper-competitive and desires the ultimate win condition at all costs. That doesn't make them a less valid player than you. Different people have different ideas of fun, and if you're not playing a game for your own enjoyment, then what are you doing?
5 -
They can play it however they want. I can't stop them, nor would I if I could.
I'm just not going to take them seriously as a Killer if they play that why.
0 -
How successful of a build is that😅
0 -
It's the secret meta nobody knows about.
0 -
My meme trapper build is padded jaws killer shack basement build...they get caught and then I lift them out of the trap and just trap around the basement while watching from a hill🤣.
1 time followed a rescuer and while they unhooked I put a trap on the top of the stairs and the rescuer got caught. Another survivor was trying to run interference and jumped into the window trap while the unhooked survivor jumped in a locker to avoid getting hit(or maybe wanted to use ds?) Just trapped outside the locker 🤣 and the last person threw down the shack pallet and ran.
The salt I got in the end game and I told them I was using padded jaws how is that sweaty...I didn't force you all to be altruistic and rush the shack. Such a warm feeling 😎
0 -
Yeah but who needs Traps if you can have no Traps? Even better.
Or once I forgot to take Ammo with me so I played M1 Deathslinger, I also "forgot" to use Perks.
0 -
I suggest just giving up playing for fun.
2 -
So an m1 only challenge🤣 also known as the trickster adept challenge (with perks)😁
0 -
They still dodge sometimes because they respect DS's gun, I don't evem aim and get free distance. With Trickster it's probably harder because no one respects his power... for a good reason.
Trapper is similar, even though I don't place any Traps people are still paranoid and avoid grass.
0 -
It's the fear of that one out of place trap getting you...lots of fun in the swamp or the long grassy pathways in haddonfield 🤣
