PROLOGUE

Essentially, the killer's basement is a place where the Entity's presence can be felt the most. However, you don't really see this when you enter the basement; sure — lightning and noises are nice, but there's more potential for the basement to have. Upon making the basement visually more appealing, there would still be no reason for the survivor to go into the basement due to the shear risk involved.

Objective: Make the basement look scary and give survivors risk / reward factor to using the basement.

Basement Visual Overhaul

Entering the Basement

Upon looking down the stairs, you will see the walls decaying until there's no walls guarding the stairs. When downstairs, there's no walls to be seen besides the dark void that surrounds the ledges. There will be candles around corners to light up the basement ever so slightly, making it possible to stealth in certain situations.

Basement Rooms

There will be three rooms for survivors to explore, each containing something for either the killer or survivor to use. Since there aren't any walls, they will just be platforms surrounded by the dark void.

Basement Mechanic

Environmental Hazard

Since there aren't any ledges, survivors can accidentally wonder into the void, causing them to fall and catch themselves on a ledge.

New Dying State

There's a new dying state for survivors, making two dying states:

  • Dying — Bleeding-out

Occurs when you take too much damage or don't mend themselves in time. Survivors slowly lose blood, eventually causing them to die.

Survivors can NOT recover from this state.

Bleed-out Timer: 4 Minutes

  • Dying — Weakness

Occurs when survivors wonder into the void, causing them to fall and catch themselves on a ledge. Survivors slowly become weak, eventually leading to them not having enough strength to hold themselves up, then causing them to die from a the fall.

Survivors CAN recover from this state.

Weakness Timer: 2 Minutes

This makes survivors cautious when escaping the basement as cutting corners could cause them to accidentally wonder into the void and allow the killer to grab them from the ledge.

Objectives

Every basement is guaranteed to have the following within it:

  • 1 Generator
  • 1 Totem
  • 1 Pallet
  • 2 Chests
  • 4 Lockers
  • 1 Emergency Override Switch

Emergency Override Switch

Hatch no longer spawns in when there's only one survivor alive, only when all generators have been repaired.

Activates during the EGC [The EGC will now activate when there's one survivor alive or an Exit Gate was opened]

Allows the survivor to use the override switch to automatically open both exit gates after 8 seconds of being held down. However, the killer can destroy the override switch to prevent the survivor from using it.

When the survivor successfully uses the override switch or the killer destroys the override switch, EGC timer will be speed up to 200% the normal speed.

EPLOGUE

I know some of these ideas are pretty ridiculous, but I thought why not share them in case the community like them. Too add on, it would make the basement actually important and visually appealing to everyone while having it's risks.
