Billy’s overheat is too punishing, but only with engravings

billys overheat is balanced around default billy but the issue is that literally every billy uses engravings so the extra charge time is just too punishing.

please buff engravings so they reduce heat whilst revving. rant over

    Yeh it needs a reduction so it works out the same overall.

    I'm merely here to remind everyone that they nerfed engravings when the rework came out.

    • Death Engravings - from 15% to 3% movement speed, and they increased the charge time.
    • Doom Engravings - From 20% to 5% movement speed, and they increased the charge time.

    Edit: The changes were reverted after they deemed it too punishing.

    They reverted the Nerf shortly afterwards. So not really relevant.

    @Topic:

    I agree. Engravings should also reduce the Overheat gained so that it is not too punishing to use them, because you overheat way too fast with Double Engravings to make them really worth running.

    Yeah engravings already had a punishment of the extra charge time. Making you overheat in like 2 saws is pretty terrible

    It's mainly there to remind people.

    As to what to remind them of?

    • They thought it was a good idea to nerf them to not even half of their original number. That 3% and 5% are going to make a considerable difference.
    • That the increase in charge time was a good idea
    • Mainly the fact they don't bother testing or playing their killers.

    You forgot to mention something (or at least not stated clearly).

    Currently, Engravings increase charge time by 12%, increasing the 2.5 rev to 2.84.

    Nerfed Engravings not only reduced 20% and 15% to 5% and 3%, but also increased three charge time from 12% to 20%, meaning it went from 2.84 to 3.125.

    You were penalized more for less.
