(A possible) solution to Prestige and Grind
Hello :)
So this topic is again coming back on the forums and different streams. And last night i woke up with an idea that could actually reward players for prestiging more than just for a cosmetic, and that would also reduce the grind for perks.

for Prestiging P1
Receive 25% of the BP price of your items and offerings inventory
You instantly get the unique perk of your character at Tier 3.
For prestiging P2
Receive 50% of the BP price of your items and offerings inventory
You instantly unlock all perks at Tier 1.
You'll have to grind Tier 2 and Tier 3 of the perks
for prestiging P3
Receive 75% of the BP price of your items and offerings inventory
You instantly unlock all perks at Tier 2.
You will only have to grind the Tier 3 of the perks

This way you still lose your items and offerings, but you still get a small portion of the BP back and it make prestiging less grindy + Having a P3 character make it easier to access the new perks when a new DLC drops and allows you to play with them very quickly.

not bad. I don't really see the point of reimbursement for inventory items/offerings...
Also the jump from p1 to p2 is a massive boost. Going from unique tier 3 perk to all tier 1s unlocked. However, I feel all perks should be unlocked at tier 1 for everyone regardless of prestige (if we have to keep tiers)

I would prefer to just get rid of perk tiers honestly theyre so outdated...
But the bloodpoint refund is a terrific idea

To be honest, I think a much better system would be just having all Perks available at Tier 1 from the get go.
So when you unlock a teachable on a survivor, all other survivors immediately have access to that perk at Tier 1. You then only need to grind out Tier 2 and 3.
This would eliminate a third of the grind, without even touching Prestige.
Prestige should come with some other benefits, so that it doesn't end up being virtually mandatory in order to reduce the grind. Shouldn't have to Prestige if you don't want to.
Perhaps something as simple as BP cost of the bloodweb being reduced by 10/20/30% depending on tier, so that acquiring items/add-ons/offerings becomes a little easier when you Prestige.

Well the remboursement of the inventory is to help you get back some of the BP you invested in leveling up and help you go to the next level of Prestige faster. ^^
For the unlocking T1 regardless of prestige, honestly why not or we could :
1) get rid of the perk slots
2) make 4 perks spawn in the web before lvl 50
3) force the entity to no "eat" more than half of the available number of perk (coz it happen, even if you take the shortest path at lvl 50 that she eats 3 perks instead of 2...)
4) have the ability to reroll a bloodweb 3 times a day per side (if the case of the Entity sharing Buckle Up, Camaraderie, Ace in the Hole and Streetwise ;))

Hum Yeah teachable would need work too indeed.
What if you would get +25% BP bonus for each unique perk of the character you equip ? Up to 100% if you don't equip a fourth perk. So basically going for the achievement-build would be rewarding BP. Could also help with the grind and make the achievement getting more rewarding.

The grind for getting the perks has to be definitely reduced. This should be however be separate from prestige mechanic.
The issue with your proposal is: It is actually going to be easier to get all perks while doing prestige. In other words: with prestiging you will get the perks with less grind compared to no prestige. So prestige is not going to be something special that only a few players do for the skin. It will become the META.
My suggestion is to just simply make the perks immediately available on max tier, no need to get them from bloodweb. My proposal also addresses prestige and bloodpoint balance.
But simply removing perk tiers is also good enough.

the only thing I would add to this is that you get to keep your event items after you prestige because some of these event items are never coming back and I'd like to not loose them.

Very creative and a genuinely cool idea to give more benefit to prestiging but I still really think that just removing perk tiers is the easiest and most effective way to properly reduce the grind in the game currently. I also always thought giving the player a discount to the blood web based on the killers prestige would be nice as well, for instance at prestige one you save 10% on everything you buy in that killers blood web and then 15% at prestige 2 and 20% at prestige 3.

Love this idea. Sadly, the devs will never do it. They don't care about the grind.

This is a system I honestly hoped for years ago when doing my first prestige, and was really disappointed with the actual rewards for my efforts.
Fast forward to todays grind and I can't believe it's not already changed.

Yuh. With the amount of characters currently in the game, and 1-3 being added with every new chapter, the grind can be really unforgiving. BHVR makes it a point to grab huge licenses so they can pull in new players, but a lot of the people that pick up the game don't stay because they can never get a foothold.
