Remove or completely rework Trapper

Trapper is honestly the worst killer in the game. You can get anything done. As soon as you place a trap it is disarmed. Literally the millisecond you put it down it’s gone. Trapper needs removed or reworked. He really is just a random spot on the roster.

    He doesnt need a rework. Just major buffs.

    Put his traps in a locker, he starts with 2 but can carry 3 at a time and can place up to 10. Make tar bottle and yellow trap setters basekit. Disarming a trap requires a great skill check.

    That would make him S tier :)

    The only way to play him successfully is to get someone in the basement and just trap everywhere around it.

    Unfortunately it makes for a brain dead game. I just dc if this happens.

    What's the specific problem though? Maybe this is BECAUSE he's not good (I don't know, I don't use him) but despite the fact that I don't see Trapper too terribly often, he's almost always fantastic when I do face him. There are some really crafty, really spatially-aware Trapper players out there.

    I always found it dumb that he had a limit to his carrying capacity in the first place. Like, it takes them several gens worth of time to set up properly and if they happen to spawn close to a trap they can´t even pick it up without yellow bag. Then there´s the fact that he is f tier in chase and his traps may or may not be helpful because they´re easily countered and 99% of the time a net loss. Big yaaawn when we face trappers.

    No, I still have fun with him, granted, I have to equip bloody coil if I suspect a decent swf and do my best to get them in the basement. He just needs a trap carry increase and I'd be happy to play more killer.

    If you’re in games where traps you set are almost immediately disarmed upon leaving, then someone is following and watching you.

    Take advantage of that.

    Place a trap somewhere that isn’t close to a safe loop, or safe structure. Leave, but immediately return to see if you can catch someone in the act, or search the immediate area.

    If it’s because someone is bringing in a map to see the auras, then bring Third Seal, and trap your Hex.

    Ive been doing really good with him consistently ever since i abandoned the approach of setting up multiple traps early on in the game.

    I run one gen slowdown perk (ruin or pop) and then chase perks (STBFL, PWYF, bamboozle) and that way i just focus on setting traps only when its convenient and doesnt cost me a lot of time.

    I usually use the setting speed addons every time because theyre highly underrated and maximize his chase potential and let me worry less about wasting time with setting.

    Other good addons are the bloody coils and tar bottles.

    Spending the first 3 minutes if the match setting up intricate trap networks is not the optimal way to play him. If youre doing that youre guaranteed to lose.

    Once you get used to playing differently with him you start to view the trap bag addons as a waste of an addon slot imo

    I would like to see him reworked and buffed though. He should be able to start out with more traps by default.

    he isnt the worst, the stinky legion is much worse, theyre power is just bad, move slightly faster and make people injured against good survivors legion is gonna get destroyed because they have no reason to heal

    Trapper is definitely not the weakest. Myers is by far the weakest killer in the game, he doesn't really have much of a power. Trapper just needs his traps to reset automatically with an animation and he'll be pre good.

    He "only" needs tar bottle and yellow bag as basekit and he is fine. Right now he's the worst killer in the game.
