    Not really try again

Before that nobody really attacked you in this thread, nor your opinions. People were civilised and a debate/discussion was being held

However, you decided that civil disagreements aren't enough and declared the thread to be attacking you for your opinions (despite this not being the case), eliminating what little credibility you held as you proved yourself unwilling to- or unable to- back up those opinions. This, instead of giving the desired effect of being one big "told you so moment" just made everyone disagreeing with you look stronger in their stances.

So, not the cool epic burn you thought it was. Everglow outsold.

Edit: Also mocking you leaving a thread isn't attacking an opinion so congrats you're wrong twice over!

If you meant me with ‚that one dude‘, I never said that. At all. I was saying that there are explicitly heterosexual relations mentioned in the lore and everybody assumes that those chars are heterosexual.

literally no one said they think everyone is hetero.

and not everything is kept ambiguous, that’s just not true since introduction of Nurse. And no one asked for confirmation of sexuality or anything for every character at all.

and, again: why bring up politics at all and why are you avoiding so hard to explain what you meant by this?

and to be completely clear: I did not attack you. I just asked you to explain as I didn’t understand you.this is a discussion thread after all..

They can add Ellie from TLOU as a survivor, so that we can have a queer licensed character :)

(Aloy is in fortnite, so I’m sure it’s possible, it was even mentioned as an option by BHVR)

Yeah, she is. I know she’s not a horror character, I was just saying it’s possible for a PS exclusive character be on other platforms in 3rd party games

We could maybe get an amputee or something. Ash is technically one so doesn't mean we cant have someone who uses prosthetic legs or arms.

Then body Rep, people have complained that Jeff and Jane are the only "Big" characters, and it would be better if we got that more expanded on rather than average person and on the other side of the argument we could get the super skinny people.

Height could be another way to be inclusive but its unlikely as giving survivors different sizes would be unfair especially if you've got a giant 7ft character who cant hide or someone who was born with dwarfism (I hope that's not an offensive term, if it is I apologise and will edit this) as they could hide easier.

Then nationality comes into the mix, we have very poorly chosen nationality representation. There are NO African survivors. We have Adam who is Jamaican and Tapp who is African-American but no full African characters. Then South east Asia has no rep. We have Japanese, Korean and Chinese but Vietnamese, Filipino, Cambodian etc has no representation. Even an indigenous character should be added such as a Native American. Then middle eastern rep is very small, with just Zarina being Lebanese. We could even be more inclusive by adding a survivor who wears a Hijab. Finally, Hispanic characters should be getting more rep too, we have Jane but its unclear where she is from. We could get someone from Cuba, Uruguay, Brazil, Spain etc. Country rep is something that could make the game much more diverse but most likely we will get someone from Ireland or Australia next.

Religious rep would something I feel like behaviour is planning to avoid by not adding any priests or monks etc. As it might encourage anti-Semitism or something. As if a characters sole personality is "they're Jewish" it might encourage bad behaviour against people using that character. Especially since all the homophobes tunnelling people with the pride charm.

A minor one could be age diversity too. We have a very small selection of characters who are probably older than 35. By making it obvious their age would be better. Bill seems to be the oldest character at about 60-70, made obvious by his involvement in Vietnam. But its not likely behaviour would go beyond 60 or younger than 18 as they made it clear in the Stranger Things chapter they don't want to kill kids, that's why Victor is "not a baby".

Hell even culture/history representation could be a thing. Adapt to more "folklore" style killers like the Baba Yaga or wendigo. Theres plenty of urban legends in the world so if they ever start running out of ideas for killers they could just fish one of those out. We could get more era orientated chapters. Like a Pirate, Medieval, Roman or Victorian themed chapter to name a few. Behaviour clearly have tried this before with the Deathslinger, he was from the western period. While choosing different time periods might not be "inclusive" it could bring people who have a soft spot for that period into the game. Seeing a pirate as killer or a Centurion might make them want to try it out.

A little joke one here, if you notice all the survivors seem to be right handed, holding the item in their right hand. Where is my leftie representation at huh Behaviour?!? Got a problem against left handed people??

There's quite a few ways to be inclusive in this game its just up to behaviour if they wanna include them or not.

I agree with quite a few of these except for the survivor wearing a Hijab- and please don't take this like I'm against people wearing Hijabs because I 100% am not- however BHVR have expressed a very clear intention to keep all modern religion out of their game. As far as I understand it, the Hijab is a pretty big staple of Islam (neither of the two other Abrahamic traditions use it) and adding in this may cause some... Serious issues with the playerbase, while violating that original intention.

Horizon as a series isn't a PS exclusive though, it's just that we have to wait for 4 years to get it on PC. Which is something at least because H:ZD became my one of my favourite games when it was released on PC last year.

Which sounds pointless to say, but it shows that Sony is willing to share their toys a bit more than they used to be so it's actually reasonable to hope for PS exclusive crossovers. If Microsoft and Bethesda don't ######### it all up, that is.

ehh I wouldn't jump to that conclusion, they're prolly just weirded out on how crazy this thread has gotten, and can't blame them much, although I do think he shouldn't be afraid to give his two cents on the internet

That's true, but it is also a cultural thing and I've met a few people who don't follow any religion but still wear them because, well, it's a part of their identity. However, that in itself might also be a cultural thing, because NZ is really ######### wierd and really ######### isolated, so I have no clue whatsoever as to just how widespread that is.

I would gladly take an LGBTQIA+ character with open arms but not at the cost of pandering or tokenism.

It’s definitely a point of contention and a thin line to walk on when you are developing a character who “has” to fit into a particular marginalized community. Not that I have bad faith in BHVR, but it’s something to note.

At the same time, I also don’t see how we can rule out earlier survivors outright not falling somewhere in the spectrum within the queer community. Albeit I haven’t read most survivors lore, but I don’t see why it can’t be something explored or touched upon in future times or archives.

While some would argue that these characters already exist with a single notion of queerness, it’s also important to recognize that plenty of queer people don’t live openly or come to terms/realize and come out later in life.

To me, it’s ultimately about tact and substance. I don’t just want to see the most flamboyant representation of the queer community because they think it would get me to main them and spend my coin.

A survivor who uses a wheelchair would be pretty great.

Actuall that would be pretty neat - but such a character would need complete new animations for almost everything and this would actually take away resources for stuff that is more important. And BHVR already said that survivors shall only remain skins of one another.

someone with a prosthetic leg or arm would work though as @ryankickassrb suggested!

Personally it would be cool to have a survivor be aromantic in their lore since that representation basically doesn't exist

Could've added this survivor with Bubba.

Maybe they'll add Jason with this survivor.

    @Apollos

I think it's perfectly fine to want to leave characters open for interpretation in terms of their sexual orientation. With that said, there is also room to have characters who we are well aware they are open about it. IMO that is what BHVR is aiming to do.

People just get their panties in a bunch whenever they think of an openly gay character in a video game that they will never have to play as nor care about. Since you know, we only have like 27 characters they can choose from.
