I thought I would try the tutorial to see if it was smoother but I honestly couldn't tell you for most of my gameplay.

Both in survive and kill with bots I could barely see a thing. I literally got 1k in kill because I could not see where survivors were running, all I could do was follow the scratch marks and swing blindly when I thought I was close and hope they would run out of the shadows. Claudette kept juking me at a t wall because I could not see her going to vault it. In survive, I did survive, however could not see pallets in the shadows or even my way around the obstacles. I had to focus on the lighter section and stumble around in the darkness to get there.

Skill checks are still laggy, doubt I could hit tier 3 overcharge on Switch. Turning the camera seems smoother though, not quite there yet though with some bad stutters here and there. Same with running, although this does feel a little smoother too.

BHVR, you have to increase the brightness for docked mode, since you can only do that on Switch in portable mode and I'm not going to keep changing the settings on my TV just to play on Nintendo Switch. I dare not enter live matches with such darkness.

I wish I could have given more feedback but as I say I was blind for more than half the match.

Edit* changed Ps4 to Ps5 in title due to that being my main platform and people are reporting darkness issues on PS4.

    Darker?! Ugh.

I've been playing in portable mode and it's way too dark. Like you said, can't see survivors in chases. Increasing the brightness on Switch turns up the backlight which is hell on my eyes, so I'm stuck being blind in the dark.

I was playing docked, did not try portable but guessing it's the same. It sounds like the darkness has spread to xbox too but only tried the ps5 one, apart from switch. It's fine there, for some reason playstation has always been brighter than the other platforms. Not that I'm complaining since that's my main platform for dbd.

Brighten it like the PS4 version? Excuse me what? I play on the PS4 and I can literally stare at dark corners of the map, looking straight at a survivor, and not be able to see them at all because they are the exact same shade as the stupid corner.

I could see very clearly on PS4, it was always the brightest to me unless something has changed since the PS5 came out. The PS5 is bright as well though, no dark shadows at all.

It is like someone tripped and fell on the gamma slider and left it all the way at the bottom on xbox one. It is actually unplayable now where it was perfectly fine before the patch.

Someone at bhvr seems to think that lowering resolution and reducing gamma = optimizing the game. They need new people.
