5th Anniversary is a disappointment:
So first off, apparently the game is already crashing and having major bugs on top of dealing with the same bugs from the RE chapter. RCPD just went live after 2 weeks of not being playable and console players can't even play the game with performance issues. I know the devs don't have control over bugs when things go live and I understand that they are probably under a lot of pressure and I do feel sympathy for them however, this happens almost every time there is a major update. While these are all incredibly frustrating issues this is not the reason why I think the event is a disappointment.
It's because there absolutely no difference between this event and all the other events we have had in the past year or so. All the events have gone further and further down in quality. Events now are just "log in to get x reward." "gens and items change color and there's confetti again!" What happened to actual gameplay changes like the putrid serum? During the Hallowed Blight event, there was pustula plants that you had to collect serum from and escape (or in the Killer's case hook survivors) and would be able to use that as currency for event items. Another example are the community challenges like during the Summer BBQ which allowed you to get really cool cosmetics for doing challenges. I know there is a community challenge now but it isn't the same quality as the other one since it's the exact same design from the 4th year anniversary and now it's just on David and Wraith.
I love DBD, truly I do. But I think we can all agree that the events and the game quality in general has gone downhill. I am in no way trying to attack anyone from BHVR as I am sure they are busy with 1000 things right now, but as a player since launch day, I just have to voice the problems that I am having with this game.

this is the problem. 1 per bloodweb is bs. there were a lot more prev year, like 3-4-5 every bloodweb. I've spent like 600k and got 6-7 cakes it's dumb

I'm actually furious at this point. I've had at least 7 errors, one crash in game, 3 games cancelled while loading, and the first ######### game I can play, the killer camps, slugs and tunnels, because why not? They get cosmetics just for participating while survivors have to win. This is absolute BS.

I want more pustula pedals and lantern grabbing. But the community decided those were bad events and only wanted hooks and gens, no secondary objectived allowed. 😪

I now experience not 1 but 2 postgame lobby bugs. One is the one I had before the event where I'm forced to exit the game as the lobby freezes when I try to leave. The other is now when an error message appears, sending me to the "Press space to continue"~ screen.
I still keep my BP earned at least. But quite annoying and very frequent.

Why do you expect anything else? It was like this last year. I rolled back the amount of time I put into this game. I might play two or three matches a week compared to 5 or 6 a day. Haven’t spent a dime since last year. I still had a bit of cash left from that time period to try out nemesis but I won’t be getting Leon or Jill.
just don’t expect anything from them and play this game casually. Anything else is a heart ache waiting to happen.

You are right when you said not to expect anything else. My expectations for this game has lowered significantly. I just had a glimmer of hope that for the 5th year anniversary which is quite the milestone, something would change.

Last year was between 0 and 2 event things (divided in flashlights, medkits and cakes) per bloodweb. I remember this, because i complained about it. Since older events had up to 6 event things per bloodweb.

The fact that they didn't improve it at all is just sad at this point.

I remember the Winter event from 2018. You had like 10 gift boxes in a Lv 50 web and could get anything out of it + at least 2 winter party starters. The frosty eyes cosmetic were just added to your account. No login stuff. We never saw these firecrackers again btw.

I think it sums it up perfectly, it's funny but true. I have been noticing that more and more players are getting tired of this constant cycle and I hope that we can somehow make a change.

Right. I remember them saying one time that firecrackers were going to have addons or something like that...another thing that never happened. I miss the old winter and halloween/blight events, they were the best.

No issues on my end. As for cakes I have 39 on Nemesis not including the ones I've used on each game. I've seen a few bloodwebs that don't have any but it's been rare.

I had this glimmer of hope for 2 years (from when i started playing).
I came back recently, which is like 3 months ago by now, from a 4 months break. I was still playing on and off but not that quite consistently.
This glimmer is still slightly there. But it's like a fire that's using it's firewood just a little too fast.

I remember back that I was mad about "all the useless firecrackers" back then. I was a quite new player and it felt that they clutted my bloodweb, but now I know how wrong I was. I would give a lot to have bloodweb like these again.
We only get these items once a year for maybe 2 weeks but now you get only one guaranteed with a chance to get one or two additional items at Lv 50. That is so frustrating if you have multiple characters where you want all of the items.

That's because it's a killer bloodweb. There are only cakes. For survivor there are 4 different otems/offerings you can get. And it also depends if you only do Lv 50 webs or if you level up a character. The latter gives you a lot more stuff for your BP compared to Lv 50

And yall just eating it up. They can release bad updates and you guys just receive it getting on your knee like a medieval knight getting excalibur lol. Just don't buy cells or take a few days off guys. They'll listen hopefully.

DBD income is primarily from new players buying the game, DLC, and auric cells/cosmetics. Playing the game doesn't give them money.

It's funny because they said they were going to put all their focus into the anniversary and Halloween events and not the other one because those 2 are the most important...look how that turned out...I can't wait to see what happens this Halloween.

Can't even be called an event, to be honest. That was nothing more than a failure, a total mess.
I remember that I got extremely angry they were not doing Winter Solstice anymore, but after seeing the Eternal Blight I was kinda glad that were not going to ruin another good event.

Yea. For now, I am saving them up for each character. I decided to do so and not waste them, theyre very rare and others are going to bring cake into trials so I really dont need to waste mine.

Agreed. I can't wait for no actual gameplay changes and event cosmetics locked behind an auric cell paywall instead of community challenges and event objectives! :D
