Survivors shouldnt be able to duck under Nemesis Tentacle Strike
ive had a strong suspicion that this was the case when playing him, but up to now i always said "gotta be latency. im sure on their screen the tentacle didnt just slap right through them!".
today i went in a Custom Game with a friend - and my suspicion was right.
Survivors can avoid an Tentacle Strike over small obstacles by crouching down.
i got a couple of issues with that however:
1) it actively disencourages you to use the tentacle for cool and skillfull shots and actively encourages you to only use it on pallets and windows when the Survivors are locked in an animation, which is very boring for both sides.
2) dodging a Tentacle Strike already isnt a hard task. due to its precise hitbox and Nemesis wind up, baiting a swing / dodging an incomming one is not that hard of a task. There isnt really any need for Survivors to be able to duck under it aswell.
3) it makes absolutely no sense for it to miss. the Tentacle Strikes animation is literally the tentacle going up in the air, above the Survivor, and then whipping down on them. If it were a sideways Swing, yeah okay - but its not. currently the tentacle literally just goes straight through the Survivor without hurting them.
If the animation has the tentacle whipping them from above, the hitboxes should reflect that.

despite the animation the hitbox is literally just a straight line

It's fairly easy to avoid as it is, don't nerf him, he has enough problems. The tentacles hitbox is so thin it needs to be widened, even if it is a tier 3 thing, however take the strafe ability out since this is what catches most survivors out with the strike.

He wants to buff him. The point is that tentacles can be dodged already by just moving from side to side. It is really bad, when you need to just crouch, which is possible on reaction becouse of that wind up and it negates any ranged potencial over loops.
It is terrible mainly on Haddonfield, when you can't hit over any fence.

I've been getting hit with a fair few tentacle strikes. Thanks for the tip!

Well, when more people will start doing it, then maybe it will highlight the issue and will get fixed. So abuse it as much as possible!

That's what I was saying. He needs a buff, I was just saying please don't nerf him and the tentacle was too easy to avoid. Basically agreeing with the op, sorry if this wasn't made clear in my post.

He does need quite a few QoL changes, especially the ducking part. I was playing as Nemesis, and this Nea was well over 3 meters away from the vault, I whipped her, she crouched, I missed. She then stood still, crouching, I swung again, missed. It's upsetting.
