Bloodpoint Balance
_Disclaimer: this is not about the usefulness of perks regarding 'winning', merely a comparison between and killer and a survivor who are both playing purely to maximise bloodpoint gains. _
Everyone knows that for farming bloodpoints, you choose killer. Even on a base level, a killer will generally earn the most points in a single game than any of the survivors unless they have a really bad game. This is fine, but I feel the number of tools that killers now have to increase bloodpoint gains is a little ridiculous compared to survivors.
Killer bloodpoint maximising tools include:
BBQ and Chili - 25% bloodpoint increase for each survivor's first hook
Distressing - 100% deviousness bloodpoint increase
Hex: Thrill of the Hunt - 10% hunting bloodpoint increase per standing totem
Beast of Prey - 50% hunting bloodpoint increase
+ some bloodpoint farming addons for a small selection of killers
All of these perks have additional effects in terms of normal gameplay.
Imagining the perfect scenario, this provides Killers with: 200% 100% 100% 210% (+ an addon)
Survivor bloodpoint maximising tools include:
We're Gonna Live Forever - 25% bloodpoint increase per token for unhooking/protection
No One Left Behind - 100% altruism bloodpoints once the exit gates are powered
This provides survivors with: 100% 100% 100% (maybe 200% for 2mins at the end) 100%
Not only are the killer perks functional as standalone perks without the bloodpoint effects (except sometimes Distressing), but BBQ and chili is a meta perk and helps to discourage camping. On the other hand, We're Gonna Live Forever promotes yolo unhooks. The speed increase attached to No One Left Behind is negligible, and it relies on other survivors being injured or caught at the end of the game so is rarely prosperous. Both of the survivor perks must also be fought over; only one survivor can unhook, which is where the big points come from.
The ability to earn bloodpoints in inarguably unbalanced.
I would happily use bloodpoint perks as a survivor WITHOUT them having the additional gameplay benefits that the killer perks have. The bloodpoint tools just don't exist. Survivors are considered by the devs to be the OP side at the moment - surely providing the option to replace normal perks with more bloodpoint perks would help to reduce this issue?
