Tunneling is easily the most consistent win condition. Surprised people that are higher ranked don't do it. What do they do instead?

Yeah, in *some* cases. But if you're tunneling with 5 gens still on the board, it's no longer a strategy; you're just bad.

Well at least nobodies getting tunneled considering no one can even get a game now

Do you have any idea how aggravating it is to look at the scoreboard and see you made less than 8k because the killer decided to tunnel you off hook so they can have an easy game?

I play SWF casually. My friends and I all make mistakes and sometimes it's pretty funny. We are by no means the bully squad or the optimal SWF squad. We're just playing for fun, and being tunneled out of the game at 5 gens is not fun.

Survivors can say whatever they want. Bottom line: blame your teammates. Yes there is instances of hard tunnels where the killer will not hit a survivor even if they are right in front of them. But most of the time (and it is really common recently) survivors unhook right in front of the killer. Obviously I am hitting you back down to make sure that you can't run off to gen rush me (plus no safe unhooks for doing it in my face) and I'm definitely gonna smack you if you are the only one injured. Then there is other times where a survivor will grab you, but they refuse to take aggro from you and once again if I find you, I will at least knock you back down because it means you aren't doing a gen. 95 percent of the time it is the fault of your own teammates that the killer is only going for you

I don't see Otz tunneling or camping when not a single gen has been done.

I'm not gonna gas you up with the usual lines so let's get down to it.

What you perceive is unfair is in fact very fair. Unfair in dbd is when someone traps you in a corner for 45mins, plays in such a way that a game can't reach a logical conclusion, actively hacks the game, or a survivor teams up with the killer to get you killed.

Anything outside that is just somebody deciding how they want to play the game and while we don't like it. While it ruins our personal enjoyment and gets on our nerves. They are playing the game the way it was designed and the only thing we can do is just prepare to re-queue and hope for the best.

That's how DBD has been for 5 years and will be for another 5 probably. There is no rulebooks or refs to call when someone chooses efficient low scoring play over longer high scoring games. People aren't ever going to get banned for tunneling or camping cause the game was designed with the possibilities of those things happening. All you can do is play or not play. That's all any of us can do. Welcome to Hell.

Otz rarely tunnels and camps. He even admitted the other day it was a crappy way to play and not fair to the survivor and if killers played that way they aren't good. He was actually playing survivor and he got camped and tunneled out the game.

I keep pressure on the gens. I also use corrupt and surveillance is good too. I'm not going to ruin survivors games to camp when I can get kills without doing it. As someone who's tried to get friends into this game and they stopped because they weren't having fun being camped and tunneled and stopped playing, I'm not stooping to that low level. Seeing a survivor around the hook isn't camping either. A recently unhooked survivor running back into you also isn't tunneling.

Ive watched him do it a lot, the only time ive seen him say anything about it is hard camping the first person which is boring af and puts a ton of pressure on the team to do gens quickly and hope not even 1 persin makes a mistake.

We can go back and forth on what is and isnt camping, when i say camp and tunnel in this particular thread im using it the way survivors use it. Probably not how killers use it. You and i dont see it as camping, they do. I got called a tunneler the other day because i juggeled 2 survivors and both were out by the time 2 gens popped. I dont see that as tunneling, they sure did.

    Let me just say something.

Responding with a negative emotion towards a strategy/tactic/mechanic is perfectly fine and valid. You have every right to complain about something that you don't like.

BUT, it must be stated that you shouldn't blame the players for following a strategy (tunneling and camping) because the developers ALLOW this to happen. What I'm trying to say is, blame the devs, not the players. This also applies to Killers complaining about gen rushing, Dead Hard, etc.

It matters a lot. It's extremely boring when the killer is tunneling and camping from the beginning of the trial.

Playing nice and not engaging in what is considered to be scummy gameplay are two very different things. When you make 8k or less because the killer tunneled or camped you at 5 gens, it doesn't exactly make you want to continue playing.

Stop defending tunneling! Is not fun and is unhealthy for the game!

Yes. All 3 of those are cheating mechanisms that should have been addressed from Day 1 of this game. Survivors can't cheat. Survivors can't say... "The game isn't going my way, so I'm going to play like scum". The killers have admin privileges in these matches. Fact. The match goes as the killer plays. For the record, I am not talking about SWF matches... I don't hold any sympathy towards SWF survivors, although they make great you tube videos. If the game was fair, it would remove SWF and do something about Camping, Tunneling, and Slugging. The killers simply have too much power over another person's enjoyment of the game. One might say.. "If he camps, then other survivors would do other gens and he'd only get one kill". Sure... But the game was ass for that one survivor. Causing the rise of another toxic gamer who curses this game. The game should be fun for every survivor and the killer... I think the problem for Killer mains, seeing this problem... is that they see the match as 4 vs. 1. They see 4 survivors and think of them as one. As a solo-q survivor, its 1 on 1 experience. The personal interaction with the killers... or even the teammates... affects how the game is perceived by that player.

Anyways... the Devs have had 7 years to enforce rules into these matches... and they haven't come close. They are too busy thinking up new cosmetics and adding more characters, to actually sit down and think of a way to balance the game in such a way that it is fun for every single player.
