Secret Runner-Up Entries

I think that runner-up cosmetic contest entries that were selected from the previous years should be secretly worked on and released for the anniversary event.

Seriously, there were some good cosmetic entries for survivors and killers, and it's a shame that we're limiting ourselves to two contest winners per year. It's a good way to surprise players with older entries that had a chance to win, but didn't. I'm looking at you, entries from Third Year Anniversary.

While the contest winners get to be announced and rewarded with contest rewards, one runner-up design would be picked and created without any hints. Then, it will be earn-able during anniversary. Once the event ends, the design is added into the store, purchasable only with iridescent shards.

Needs More confetti

Anniversary simply needs more confetti for more actions:

  • Hitting/hooking/mori a survivor, breaking a pallet/wall/generator
  • Completing a generator, depleting items, great skillchecks, blinding the killer, opening exit gates, fast vaulting in chase, opening a chest, cleansing a totem.

It's a bit strange how getting a great skillcheck on a generator with event toolbox makes confetti, but a great skillcheck on a event med-kit does not. Also, all great skillchecks should create confetti during the event. Once the event ends, only event toolboxes, event med-kits, and event flashlights can create confetti.

25% & 50% BP offerings are disabled During the event

It'd make going through the bloodweb much faster, allowing for faster collection of the new event items, and increasing the chances of event offerings.

Disabled 25% & 50% BP offerings was also implemented during year 1 anniversary! So it'd be nice to have it come back.

New Textures/Models

During anniversary, some models should change:

  • Totems now have Golden Skulls.
  • Generators are recolored gold and black, and have Anniversary Cakes on top of them, with the anniversary number on the cake.
  • Lockers are retextured to be black and gold with banner flags and balloons.
  • Chests are golden chests with a black bow on the lid.

Simply adding banner flags and balloons isn't enough. If it looks different, it'll feel different.

Community Challenges

Community Challenges need live-trackers since live-trackers are a nice way to incorporate community hype!

Each milestone should reward the community with new cosmetic pieces (not outfits) for killers/survivors.

The first year anniversary released different cosmetic pieces, so it'd be nice to return to DBD's roots of adding different cosmetic pieces. It'd give more options for survivors/killers with less cosmetic options compared to the original 4 survivors/3 killers.

Reintroducing In-Game Currency

Each Trial, one anniversary torch will spawn as a limited item in the trial. It's similar to Leon's flashbang and Nemesis' Vaccines, that you can't actually keep them after a trial. Torches are the same size as a map, and will disappear if dropped.

There can only be one torch per trial, spawning at intervals of 90-120 seconds.

  • Survivors that escape with a torch will have their Bloodpoint total multiplied by 25%.
  • Each torched Survivor killed will multiply the the Killer's Bloodpoint total by 25%.

New In-Game Event Currency - Anniversary Candle

Escaping the trial with the torch will award the survivor, while killers that kill at least 1 torched survivor will be awarded with 1 Anniversary Candle. 

  • The anniversary event allow for the collection of 6 Anniversary Candles.
  • 1 Anniversary Candle can be used to purchase any cosmetic piece in the store.
  • Left-over Anniversary Candles unspent will eventually be extinguished.

Like the blighted events with putrid serum, it'd be great if in-game currency came back. Unlike the blighted event, which allows for the purchase of any blighted cosmetic with putrid serum, anniversary candles can purchase any cosmetic in the store.

Even if a player has already collected their 6 candles at the beginning of the event, they can spend the rest of the event collecting a torch to increase their bloodpoint total.
