Perfect Idea for Fixing SWF
All they need to do is make it that you can chat with everyone in your party as long as they're within a set amount of meters to you. It would be a happy medium actually. Something simple like 3-9 meters away.
I have seen some people suggest things like radios in game or completely making it that you can't chat with anyone while playing. And obviously both of these options just wouldn't work. Radios would be the only item ever brought in and thus making any other item almost useless. And completely getting rid of SWF's would turn people away.

I think just giving survivors text and voice chat capabilities would be the best thing to do.
Make everything survivor with friends and balance from there.

As long as there's an option to turn it off completely, I'd be happy with it. The last thing I'd want to hear is a kid or 'adult' calling me every slur in existence because of X reason in the middle of a match.

They need to super buff solo somehow and then buff the killers that are lacking.

That would involve interfering with party chat, which is something consoles quite simply don't allow game developers to do for any reason. So don't know how that would work.
And on PC there's several ways to circumvent it that all take less than 5-10 minutes to do.

Its an immersive idea, but they wont do it. The key focus should be optimization. But I dont think they want to focus on that either.

are there even any games that make you close discord or any other background program that don't interact with the game before playing?
A genuine question because I thought people would just go around it.

Yeah even if that was possible, it'd be as simple as calling each other on Discord via a smartphone.

SWFs would still use discord or skype or whatever though. Sure, it's a fine idea in theory.. but in practice, no one will play that way.

Or using the discord website rather than the program, doubt the anticheat or game would check to see what website you have loaded on whatever browser you're using and force close that specific tab.. if those kind of checks are even possible in the first place

I will rather see them create HUD icon that shows what each survivor is doing (Gen / Totem/ Chase / Walking).
IDK if you play other games, but it would not be used much. Not everyone want to talk with other players at all, or just language barrier.
Just giving HUD icon would not rely in survivor's skill and would just show basic info.
