Farmblems are so annoying (survivor)

I know, I know, ranks are meaningless but still. It's the only "win condition" that game gives survivors.

The way emblems operate for survivors is just so dumb.

"Better don't win too quickly because if you do, you'll derank. You've finished all the gens since you've beaten killer in chase and now you want to leave ? No no no, you need to let yourself be downed so that you get your altruism or if you were doing gens, now you have to stand in killer TR for 2 minutes so that you get evade emblems or you could just leave and derank at best black pip."

Because of this most of survivor games are losing ones no matter the outcome.

You've played terribly and all of you got killed early = derank everyone.

You've all played well, did gens fast and almost nobody was hooked and you've left = derank/blackpip everyone.

The only scenario where suvivors "win" is in a long match where both sides either struggled (rare) or farmed each other (common).


The most annoying part migt just be the fact that new MMR system won't change this much. Yeah maybe there will be more balanced matches (which I doubt) but they'll still keep this stupid emblem system that promotes both sides to farm each other.

I just hate the current version of emblem system so much, even when I don't play according to its rules it still bothers me that the only legit win condition is to promote dumb gameplay insted of survivor's main objetive.

I wish they changed it everyone now and then to fine tune it. Maybe test a version where survival and sacrifice would be twice as valuable so that scenarios where either sides wins quickly doesn't derank them.

    Just had one of those matches where the killer tunneled the same game the whole game and barely left the hook, I did 3 gens, and healed one person and still depipped.

    If I cared about pips, I would agree.

    Honestly, I see no reason to rank up. I play solo so, Red ranks aren't much fun. Repeatedly meta and try hards, I'll pass.

    When I do play survivor, I try and go for the "two rule". So I can at least get one pip. Two gens, two totems, two unhooks/heals. If I'm really up for extra points, I'll bring a toolbox to sabo hooks. Emblems are still annoying because of how poorly designed they are, but that little system I do helps me get one/two pips depending on how well I did for the rest of the game. The only times I depip are from tunneling/camping games.
