Trickster is the epitome of unhealthy and bad design

He has almost every single issue that Old Legion had and if you know anything about that dumpster fire you'll know exactly why Trickster is an awful Killer. Because of how he works almost no one enjoys playing against him and due to his recent nerf with how many knives he can carry and how his recoil still exists makes it so that not many people enjoy playing as him either. The worst part about this "buff" is the fact that he still isn't a good Killer, he still has all the same weaknesses as before where tall loops absolutely destroy him but now in smaller loops he's infinitely more miserable to go up against.

Trickster needs a complete power rework like Freddy, his current power will never work no matter what the dev's do to him.

I said it the day he was released and I'll say it again: The trickster is a practical joke from the devs and the way they handled this "buff" is solid evidence for this claim

I wasn't around for Old Legion, but what I've heard is that Legion got a rework because they were incredibly slow to down Survivors but there was very very little that the Survivors could do about it. Is that accurate?

Yup, you hit the nail on the head. You could loop him for a while but no matter what you did he would eventually down you.

In that case you are very very wrong in your comparison. There's nothing guaranteed about anything Trickster does. Double that since you'll start losing laceration after only avoiding knives for 10s. Meanwhile if he catches you out, downing with a measily 12 knives can put you on the floor stupidly quickly.

From what I've been hearing, Trickster now strongly resembles Old Bubba. Get caught in a dead zone? You die horribly. Get found in a good spot, he can't hardly down you.

That's also arguably not a great spot for him to be... but your comparison is very scuffed.

he has the facecamping potential of old bubba even more so now it’s a joke 😂

There is nothing even remotely close between Trickster and Legion. I have looped trickster for 5 generators. There is nothing even remotely similar towards their powers. Legion feral frenzy is moves extremely fast, vaults extremely fast and uses M1(an Unavoidable attack) to apply deep wound in which he moon walked to get unavoidable downs. Legion to this day in feral frenzy still has no counter-play for injuries, He just cannot down players which is why he is not complained about.

Trickster never uses m1, moves extremely slow and his method of attacking is using projectile weapon which you can realistically juke/dodge knives. you just suck at looping and the chase. Projectile killers are among the most healthy designs in DBD.

Unlike Old Bubba, Trickster is super map dependent.

Old Bubba could at least create deadzones with pallet destruction and Old Bubba did at least have PWYF for easier downs. Trickster has nothing to help him on maps where survivors can easily break LoS.

I also just don't get why people are so insistent on comparing him to old legion. The only thing they remotely have in common is needing multiple stabs to down. You couldn't lose Old Legion ever and pallets or vaults wouldn't give you any distance against him on top of that mending didn't go away on it's own so Legion could abuse the fact that the deep wounds bar went down while the survivor was mending to force guaranteed downs where the survivor had no option to avoid it.

Yeah, every Killer will eventually down you but usually it's because the survivor eventually screws up in the chase. Old Trickster made it so that no matter how good you were at the game even if he only hit's one knife on the survivor within a loop it'll eventually add up and down the survivor. And when I mentioned how Trickster gets destroyed on tall loops I meant to say that because he gets destroyed in big loops that just turns his gameplay into a big RNG fest because if you get something like wreckers yard with mostly small loops you'll destroy the survivors but if you get any coldwind map you'll get looped for a long time, even against survivors who aren't that good at the game.

When I was comparing Old Legion to Trickster I forgot to mention that I was comparing Old Legion to Trickster before the most recent patch. Back then he had 60 knives to down you with and even if he only hits you once in a loop those singular knife hits will eventually add up and down you. I haven't had enough experience with new Trickster but from my few games he still sucks, arguably even more than before imo.

Your own experiences with Trickster mean nothing unless you have proof and even then a single game doesn't represent every single Trickster. My point was that even if Trickster hits you a single time in a loop, eventually he would down you no matter how good you are. Sure, it would take forever but it was unavoidable. I've also looped Tricksters for extremely long times, most survivors have since he's a joke of a Killer but most people eventually go down to him. Obviously with his new "buff" his gameplay and counterplay has changed a bit but for the most part it's still kind of similar.

And that last sentence is extremely biased. You think projectile Killers are healthy designs but that's pretty damn debatable. Trickster sucks for both sides, most people I've seen talk about Deathslinger don't enjoy going up against him, the only healthy projectile Killer is Huntress. Other than latency sometimes giving her truck sized hitboxes she's one of the most fair, strong, and balanced Killer's in the game.

Notice how I said he has *almost* every issue as old Legion? He isn't a carbon copy of old Legion but he used to have the issue of he would down you no matter what you did. That issue is lessened now that the laceration decay starts faster but he's still an extremely unhealthy Killer.
