How to buff Knock Out without it being overbearing
Knock Out as it stands is a niche perk at best, due to its basic attack requirement. However, I feel like the devs don't want to change this as some killers like Twins or the instadown killers who excel at slugging could use this perk to slug a survivor for a couple of minutes at a time due to other survivors not being able to find them. So I want to propose the following change to make the perk more useful for all killers while making it less overbearing to play against as survivor.
When a survivor is put into the dying state, they are affected by Knock Out for 20/25/30 seconds. Knock Out causes the following effects:
- The survivor's aura is not revealed to any other survivor.
- The survivor suffers from a decreased field of view, the Blindness status effect and crawls 50% slower.
The effects of Knock Out are removed when the survivor is picked up.
With this change, any killer can use this perk with any attack. However, the change of the perk's duration to 30 seconds will help avoid scenarios where a survivor is slugged for the entire game because no one can find them. While this is a nerf in one aspect, the perk is buffed in other ways, as a downed survivor's aura is hidden completely while affected by the perk, meaning survivors very close could have no idea where you are. The blindness and crawls speed debuff is also buffed by 15 seconds, helping to make these aspects of the perk more useful.
I feel like with this change, we could have Knock Out be a more useful and healthier perk for the game.
