Boon Totem Ideas
I know this is already being worked on but just some ideas for how they could work and interact.
Boon Perks start with 1 token, upon cleansing any totem (hex or dull) it'll convert into a boon totem. This way survivors can select where they want to put their buff area depending on the game state and totem spawns . Also it'll prevent hex perks and boon perks from overlapping since survivors would have to destroy a hex to create the boon. There should also be added to the hud # of boon perks your team has. This may get complicated the more that are added since currently 5 totems are the max. However having a Boon counter will let survivors know to not break all the totems they find, or possibly allow survivors to interact with destroyed totems as well to place a boon.
Could also allow for survivors to see an aura marker for destroyed totems. This could just be base game to allow for easier time knowing how many destroyed totems there are without small game but would require more attention. Or it could just be an addition to all boon perks.
Killers can destroy boon totems by interacting with a boon totem. This can take X seconds and possibly interact with future survivor boon perks in some way. Allowing for more options for creativity.
Also a possibility to allow a certain noise to be played when a survivor creates a boon totem however you could opt to have a future killer perk interact in such a way instead.
Boon perk ideas -
Boon - Distraction
Once the totem has been lit, the totem will show a generator aura to the killer until cleansed. Every X seconds, the totem will create a noise notification to the killer.
----------------------------
Boon - Together
Once the totem has been lit, any survivor that enters the area range will have their aura shown to all other survivors.
----------------------------
Boon - Disconnect
Once the totem has been lit, whenever the killer enters the area. Their link to the entity is hindered causing them to lose the ability to read auras (this includes hooks when carrying a survivor and generator).
----------------------------
Boon - Despair
Once the totem has been lit, whenever the killer comes within Xm. They'll hear injured survivor moans coming from the totem.
----------------------------
Boon - Hope Restored
When the final generator has been finished, a random destroyed or dull totem will convert into a boon totem. This totem will show its aura to all survivors in blue. When a survivor is within Xm, their healing speed is increased by X amount and their auras cannot be seen by the killer
----------------------------
Boon - Purity
When the totem has been lit, creates a purification area that will remove any status effect (except exhaustion duh) from a survivor. (This would include overwriting third seal blindness and any other permanent effect)
-Clearly this could be tinkered with for balance however as a destroyable boon i think it could be fair to cure permanent debuffs-
----------------------------
Boon - False Clarity
When the totem has been lit, creates an area of silence for the killer. All noise notifications are disabled within Xm. (Such as fast vault, skill check fails, and fast locker entry/exits)
----------------------------
Boon - Boon Boon
When the game starts, a 6th totem will spawn as a boon totem. If this totem is cleansed by the killer gain a token. The next protection hit that would put you into the dying state instead gives you deep wounds.

If i think of more i'll update. Feel free to criticize the ideas or add to them. I tried avoiding specific numbers because clearly those would be tinkered with for balance (such as range of effects)
