Pallet hit/animation suggestion

I think that survivors are appreciative of the effect the recent update has had on pallet hits in that it now feels less like killers can lunge through pallets or pallet stuns and more like they are a vehicle for escape in a tight chase.

I think currently there is a problem with the killer seeing the blood from the hit and hearing the survivor scream, then the server registering that the hit missed based on the calculation, then the killer feeling ripped off when the hit is 'taken away'.

Couldn't the animation be changed so that something minor happens in this case at the moment that the killer THINKS they got the hit, then if it verifies, the blood and scream are done. If the hit is determined to miss, then just have no further animation. Thus, it's communicated to the killer that there's a potential hit and then that it actually missed when they don't get the actual wound animation.

I think if I lunge and hit a survivor when they start a vault it should be a hit. I've had this happen way to much for me today. this new system certainly needs more fine tuning. I'm actually upset about this.

It's because you are seeing a hit on your local system but it's not really a hit on the server. These non-hits have been registering as hits previously and they should not have. The game has actually been taking hits from survivors all this time that weren't really hits according to the new way that the hit calculation works.

Your system is showing positions that don't agree with the server. The server figures out that it's not accurate to call it a hit and doesn't allow it. You actually missed but you can't see it on your screen, unfortunately. For all intents and purposes, the survivor was further away than you thought, hence the need for an animation change.

I agree. I don't want to overthink a lot. But a temporary fix is to process survivor's scream and blood together with the pallet validation. If the hit is neglected, then survivor's sound and blood shouldn't be sent to the killer, also if the killer is in the middle of a hit animation, cancel it.
