Iron will is stronger than intended due to poor coding
Very simple. When survivor is healthy, they make breathing sounds. When they are injured, they do grunt in pain.
Iron will removes grunts of pain, but injured survivors don't breath so they are literally silent. I do think it's silly and super strong. Just make a code that makes injured survivors with iron will breathe audibly.
Also I think Stridor should still be a counter to Iron WIll (Literally the only use of this perk)
Edit: Added a video proof on current patch where IW is even more broken by being applied multiplicatively from now on... so Stridor does literally nothing. https://youtu.be/i-Hs8C0FCys Adding breathing to injured survivors with Iron Will is IMO now a necessity so it will be louder by 25% at least.
While I think that perks should counter each other... I don't think killer perks should be negated completely as survivors bring in 16 while killer only 4.

Iron will has done this since the game came out in 2016, I'm pretty sure if it wasn't intended for survivors to make no noise at all while it was active, the devs would have changed it in the 5 years this game has been out.

@SkeletalElite I dunno mate, they aren't too fast when it comes to changing broken survivors perks. It still does make no sense, just like old DS did, so maybe they will look into it. There is nothing more boring than playing with small pp + iron will survivors (as both sides actually)

The difference is changing DS was changing a perk that was working as intended, to work a little differently.
Iron will works as intended.

@SkeletalElite I don't recall a single post or itnerview adressing IronWill so we can't say that it's for sure working as intended or not. It just looks like lazy 1/0 coding as it is now.

I have to agree. Sounds are notoriously broken in this game, I mean just look at the "silent on the ground" bug or the fact that footsteps sometimes are just silent for no apparent reason
3 -
Not making any sounds at all sounds like a fair trade off for being injured, and leaving pools of blood everywhere, when it's taking up a perk slot.
How about a perk, that made you completely silent all the time, but you were permanently exposed? Would the permanently exposed part sound like too much of a penalty? If so, then Iron Will should be fine.

@seraphor I assure you that good killers rely on sounds more than on visual things for majority of the trial (loops). Just google Scott Jund Iron Will, I can't explain crap like he can.

Bumping up, because I added video and the Iron WIll is even stronger because of recent buffs.

Just look for blood.

@Seraphor Your argument is... weird at best? During 99% of the trials you will get hit and thus benefit from the IW if you have it, often randomly loosing killer at jungle gyms while your proposition just makes the survivor one-shotted all the time. IW is stronger, because you do initially have this first heatlth state, making for a regular chase at first and then having the benefit of making no sound what so ever. Later in game if you decide not to heal you steal have this benefit with the not wasted time needed to heal up. Good survivors don't really mind being injured anyway. I really don't see the point of your argument there xD.

it took them 4 years to nerf iri head

It's been over a month and you already replied to me once...

They literally just recently made adjustments to iron will and how it stacks with other sound modifiers like stridor and it still functions the same in this regard, do you really think the devs have any intention of ever changing it
0 -
yes. they literally said these changes make it easier to track iron will stats and make changes if they needed

Give me No Mither 100% suppression of grunts if this actually becomes a thing because you know why not!

It's not poor coding, it would just be weird to hear breathing sound with grunts, and hard. Dev would have to synchronize breathings and grunts, so the record and result would be weird.
I think they just have to replace the grunts sound with breathings sound when using Iron Will.

@DoomedMind That is exactly what I wrote in my post %)

Bumping up as I see Iron Will and Stridor getting more attention again.
