Can autodidact get a rework next?

If you want to try and entice players to stop using meta perks you have actually make the non meta perks strong enough to be considered in the first place, or at least functional enough to be viable.

I personally love healing only builds with maybe only a borrowed time for when I'm playing with friends. I'd love to run the perk but it's just horrible and near unusable in it's current state. The problem lies in the fact that during a normal match of DBD, not even one with optimal/good players, people just don't run around looking to heal everyone. People normally are doing their generators while each individual player handles their own problems, normally running a medkit if they want healing.

The RNG mechanic is so heavy with the skill checks that you effectively need to ignore gens all together to go and heal players. Which itself is difficult as normally players don't just get injured and are allowed to walk away to where you can heal them, much less waste time stacking autodidact on them.

And even if you do this you still might not get stacks cause RNG is in a bad mood at the time.

So on average a game will present to you about 2-3 chances to heal someone if everything is going normally. You get more chances if you're actively playing the hook rescuer role but then you'd run we'll make it instead. And when heals are needed you've likely not stacked the perk and if skill checks proc you'll sandbag your team instead.

I actually don't mind the whole focus of having to abandon gens to heal people. But if you're going to pigeon hole people into doing that then the perk needs to be more consistent and give greater benefits for doing so.

Honestly I'm not sure exactly how it should be changed. But it and many other perks needs to be so we can finally start to see more interesting builds.
