Match making 2 + 4 + 12 +12 = rank 1 killer

Well, I still cant believe, how fair is match making.

Last three games:

We played SWF as rank 2, 4, 12 and 12.

Killer rank 1, Killer rank 2, Killer rank 1

My friend rank 12 was tunneled and camped so he got about 1500 points 2x in row.

I try to figure out, how DEVS want bring more player in this game, but doesent care about newbies. My feelings (as a veteran player) after 2 games in last 3 days are: "Ok, lets go watch anime. I dont wanna play anymore."

I mean what is better, SWF getting destroyed because they play with high rank survivor, or baby killer getting destroyed by high rank survivors?

I think it is correct to have match making around best player. You chose it, killer didn't.

You are supposed to know how to play. I doubt killer actually tunneled (unless you pissed him off), you just didn't protect him. Instead of teaching them and try to make you better, you want to bully bad killers.

Seriously? If you are really skilled player, you know that sometimes you cant do anything. One of my friend (newbie) stopped play this game. She wasnt able to do anything in game. And is it her fault? We play DBD becuase we want play coop game. She wanted play with us. So she suffered because this ridiculous matchmaking. We have one really good player in team (perfect flashlight save, saboo...) and? It wasnt enough. I dont care about killer. If matchmaking were be OK, your opinion would be pointless.

    "I dont care about killer."

so why should we care about you?

I wonder, what rank would you want to play against?

You are SWF, which is advantage and you are supposed to help your teammate. Maybe try to play KYF, so she can learn?

There is not matchmaking that can handle well random rank groups.

Game is not reason why she stopped playing, you are.

    The matchmaking is correct actually.

2+4+12+12=30. One of the survivors are rank 4, right? 4x4=16, which if you add the first survivor's rank to it, 16+2=18. Subtract 18 by itself and you get 0, and add the killer's rank and you get 1, and voilà! Big brain time.

Originally the system would take the average of the survivor ranks, but it was eventually changed to take into account only the highest rank since a really good red rank survivor can easily 1v1 a killer at purple ranks and below. (Think a purple rank with 500~ hours vs a red rank with 5,000)

Furthermore I don't think your friend was tunneled, I think in actuality what happened was that the killer correctly identified that they were your weakest link and took them out of the game. Thats not the same as tunneling. Thats making a proper, strategic decision based on the merits each survivor has displayed to the killer.

If you would like to help your friend get better I would strongly recommend getting into a kill your friends with them and practicing. For all intents and purposes, this is what a KYF lobby is for.

That's a fair pairing. So often when I play solo survivor and paired with a 3man, we get a baby killer because of that one noob in the group.

If your gonna play with high ranks then it should pair you against high ranks. Next time use kyf to help them adjust before dropping them into a slaughter.

  • Take just a second and think about the killer's end of that same stick. How do you think they feel when they are 13 and get matched with a group that is 3+4+4+7? Especially when they are trying to learn and level a killer, without even having access to most perks from the few other killers they own?

That's not even remotely close to a fair match. Want to guess how often that happens? Basically every match I've queued into as killer (14-12) in the last week (that I haven't spammed leave lobby on to find one that's not a swf group already waiting) has been with rank 8 or higher survivors. I've had to resort to leaving lobbies a good dozen times to find one that's NOT obviously a full swf group.

How much fun do you think it is to be attempting to learn a killer when there's already 2-3 gens done by the time you can even find the first survivor? Then you can't even hit that survivor because they are sitting on pallets, and the rest of the gens get finished *while you are chasing that first survivor*. Then, they all escape without ever being downed and your rank just keeps going down while you still don't get a chance to learn jack about actually using that killer.

It's ridiculous. That alone is plenty enough to discourage someone from playing.
