New Gamemode Idea!! "Continuously"
I just thought of this randomly in my head, honestly. It may need some tweaks but hey, it was fun to put together I guess. If you read this WHOLE thing, thx ;)
Mr Gimms if you add this post in a video(talking about Deadby), what are your honest thoughts??
Continuously
The game is simple.
- The trial starts out with a timer of 15 mins
- 4 Survivors
- 1 Killer
- 10 gens(that need to be completed. It will overall be 15 gens. Maybe the gamemode will be played on one map to support 15 gens. Whether a map is remodeled or new)
- No Perks
- No Add ons
- No Offerings
- No Items
- No hooks are spawned
- If a survivor is put into the dying state, the killer can just mori them
- Survivors do respawn unlimitedly
- It takes a survivor 10 secs to respawn
- Survivors respawn at a random location
- Survivors can fully recover from the dying state at all times
- There would be glyphs throughout the game that can help both survivors and killers with their objective
Glyphs such as
- Making gen speed go quicker for a certain amount of time
- Increasing healing progress for certain amount of time
- Increasing run speed for a certain amount of time
- An additional health state to go down(only temporary)
- Seeing the killers aura for a certain amount of time
- Increasing killer movement speed for a certain amount of time
- Reducing killer attack cooldown for a certain amount of time
- Increasing killer interactions including mori speed for a certain amount of time
- Having a gen decrease by 50% (only temporary)
- Having respawn times take longer
- And other cool random glyphs that you guys may think of in the comment section
- If the survivors complete all gens before the timer runs out, they win
- If the killer defends gens until the timer runs out, the killer wins

game modes would split the player base, and Q time is already bad.

The sad truth. Other games (say for example, for honor) can work with new game modes because they launched with multiple. DBD however cannot, as its playbase would become massively split and matchmaking would become very difficult. The only time when this could ever be implemented would be as a temporary side thing during an event that disappears forever after it.

The best evolution of Dbd would be to improve the Trials. Add different things. More mechanics.
I made a poll on this: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/268032/dead-by-daylight-more-mechanics-or-not
Have a visit and vote on it. People want to see DBD develop from what it is atm.
And we gotta tell BHVR that, 4 new killers and Survivors a year. and Survivor Hex Totems. Isnt enough to make the game greater.

Damn, I didn’t know all that but thx for the feedback tho

I'm confused about how killers win in this scenario. Presumably, if the survivors finish the gens and escape, that's still a win for them, but the killer can't ever remove them from the game, so what's the win scenario for that player?

I don't know about that one. What about my "Killer switch" mode? Whenever a gen is done the killer switches to another random killer 😀

thats the thing...survivors don't escape. They just have to finish 10 gens within the time limit. Killers have to defend gens until the time runs out.

I mean thats cool but why not when every survivor gets hooked? Almost like Gun Game in COD. Bc if its every time a gen gets done, that will be kinda dry imo tho. But thats still a cool concept regardless.

Okay, makes sense. Now that I understand, I feel like it would always come down to a thing where the survivors are trying to do the last gen and the killer is trying to keep them all slugged until the clock runs out, just playing whack-a-mole when they try to pick themselves up.

Bro lol...all survivors can FULLY recover from dying state lmaoooo. The survivors can pick themselves up. I see what you're saying but i'm pretty sure all the survivors will be scattered around, or figure out some type of strategy to depart themselves from the killer u know? Yeah the game mode will require map adjustments(it can just be one map that gets changed or even added just for the gamemode) of course bc it gotta be like 15 gens scattered across the map. It wouldn't be exactly 10 gens.

The killer would always just lose that game, though. If survivors can't be removed from the match and there are more gens than they need, then it's impossible for the killer to defend the gens. The survivors just spread out and do gens all match.

thats why theirs certain glyphs to avoid that. Or glyphs that we can make up.
