Hollowed Blight and Secondary Objectives
So Hollowed Blight shows a possible route to extend games with secondary objectives for survivors. The name of the game is greed! Give the survivors something to do that takes a fair amount of time, but make it worth their while. For example, there could be a dumbwaiter on the map that requires repairs. Repairing it would require the approximate amount of time of fixing 1.5 generators. The killer can't smash and regress this objective.
Completing the objective would fix the dumbwaiter giving all living survivors 3,500 blood points. This would allow the survivor to activate the dumbwaiter making a noise indication for the killer. The dumbwaiter can lift up a special chest that requires a longer than normal amount of time to open with a guaranteed purple item. Put 2 such secondary objectives per map and you've added a substantial amount of time for the killer to accomplish his objective.
The objectives are optional, but if the bait is strong enough then survivors will obviously attempt them. It's human nature. Now I can already hear the cries of killers saying "but then survivors can earn more than killers!" Wah, wah, wah, cry, cry, cry. To which I would reply that survivors assume all risk in this game, the reward for outplaying the killer should be a higher reward. Killers cant really have secondary objectives... survivors need more to do not just because games go by too fast its also because its boring and easy too play survivor.... killers need to kill and they already have enough perks and offerings to give them a ton of points distressing, BBQ now the huntress perk... all 3 with a survivor pudding on doc?1
