SBMM is great, the lack of an unranked mode is not!
Title says it all. SBMM has given me some fun/chill matches on killers that I'm still learning and more sweaty ones on killer that I main, which I think is how it's supposed to work. But damn, just because I learned how to play a killer pretty well it doesn't mean that I want to sweat my [bad word] out every time I want to play them. In that case, an unranked mode on DbD would be much better and it would actually give SBMM a much bigger purpose.

Okay but what stops a 4man sweat squad or top tier nurse going in unranked for easy games?

Yes, it won't be hard to provide the two game mode, like, they just have to "copy paste" the old match making if you're searching for a quick game,
And use the new SBMM if the player chose a ranked game....
But you know,
It's exactly the same thing as to be able to enable/disable chat filter, they won't do anything, because they know what's better for us......

If they are not going to make SWF a separate game mode, they won't do any of these either.

This. Nothing stops them and it would most definitely happen. Separating unranked and ranked queues would never work.

So every other games that has unranked/quick game matchmaking, it doesn't work ? They are full of tryharders ?
Sure there will be tryharders that would come in quick game, we can't prevent that, in any world.
But the reality would be that the majority of the players in quick game would play way more sweaty, and I even think post game chat would be overall way nicer

What games?

The first that comes in my mind is Halo Reach, next there is StarCraft 2, and God knows the unranked games are funnier and cooler than ranked games...

Know nothing about them. How do their symmetries work? Also do both sides have the same objective or do they differ? Depending on the answers to these questions, it could explain why things like smurfs or 'tryhards' are less frequent in them.
I guarantee you, just as there are people deranking to rank 16 and bullying new players right now, there are gonna be excellent players who play exclusively unranked for the same purpose. And this is gonna be way more noticable due to the nature of the game. A good team of survivors can deny a new killer any chance to win, and a good killer can stomp any team of new survivors. There needs to be a ranking system in place to prevent players with too much skill disparity between them to be matched against each other as much as possible.

Halo Reach is a well balanced game, because everyone has access to the same things, and StarCraft 2 is quite assymetric because of races (well, the game is highly competitive, so it is well balanced), but the goal is the same in both sides. Anyway I don't know why it would change anything.
These types of people would be a minority, and in ranked they can still derank to stomp on new survivors or new killers.... So providing the two modes wouldn't hurt anyone.
