Getting connected to the wrong server
Greetings!
Long read ahead:
It's been a couple days in which i've noticed that the game has been matching me with people from NA while i'm in South America (Argentina, literally at the opposite corner of the continent) so my connection is always aound 160ms (exactly 166ms 99% of the time) which makes survivor unplayable and killer frustrating since the new update will pretty much revert a lot of hits that i get (literally i see the animation of a surv being injured and immediately after the hud changes to healthy and the survivor is okay, not gonna say they're hacking because i get it kind of often on these games in which i have high ping), sometimes i get games in my region, those times my ping is always normal (around 30-50 and 60-80 ms, i suppose that's because there is also different servers in my region so it's always either one of those ranges), someone told me it's because of the mmr system but i thought it was disabled? Also i doubt i'm the only person with semi high mmr in my whole region which encompases a lot of countries, including brazil which has probably the most active twitch/competitive gaming scene in the entire region so players tend to be super sweaty.
It's not my ISP either because it doesn't happen with other games and i actually tried using a different provider (we have 2 internet connections for the time being) and the same thing happens, it's not my wiring either because i got new utp cables and replaced all the tips around 6 months ago for unrelated reasons, i do have a vpn that i use in order to connect to my workplace's mysql database and since it is pretty close to my place i never get that much of a difference in ping whenever i forget to turn it off which almost never happens, i haven't tried using my phone's 4g through usb tethering which has certainly saved me a couple times but i might try it later.
Not my network adapter either because it is literally two months old (changed my motherboard) and whenever my fiance plays in my computer with her account she doesn't get sent to NA and her ping is fine, also her computer is close to mine within the same network and the same happens on hers.
It's super weird, didn't wanna report it since maybe there is something i overlooked or something temporary with matchmaking but i thought i might as well say something in case someone else has been experiencing the same thing.
Thanks in advance to whoever took the time to read that and have a nice foggy day.
