Dead Man's Switch - too powerful for a buff?

Hello!

I recently started practicing with Mr.Slinger and I am curious what the community thinks of Dead Man's Switch. I have never played with Slinger's perks before but now that I have I feel DMS could be a meta perk but it is held back from its Obsession requirement.

Would it be too much to buff it to either of these options?

A) Drop the obsession requirement. Anytime someone is unhooked DMS activates. Maybe with this option they could make its so a gen that is 30% or less is immune to dms?

B) The unhooker becomes the new obsession. Giving the killer the incentive to go after the unhooker instead of the obessession again. Another option would be that the next person to touch a gen that was effected by dms becomes the obsession.

Right now it seems like there are far too many requirements for this perk to go off. One, need to hook obsession, and two, people have to get off gens. Even then it only works 2 times. I mean who is getting off a gen on the 3rd hook for the obsession? No one.

What do you guys think about this perk? Do you think it is okay as is or could it use a buff?

I find that a lot of the gen perks have amazing ideas to them, but they have too many requirements or are hindered by their cool downs. Oppression is another perk that I think could be amazing if it wasn't for that fat cool down.

Side question: when I play mid tier killers I feel like a slow gen perk is a must to even have a chance at the match. Would it really be so op if gen related perks had some bite to them? I am a very average player but on both sides I find gens really fly by.

I love this idea! A little bit dms and a mini corrupt ^^ That would be a great buff.

I was thinking it could be changed to a Scourge Hook perk ever since the PTB. DMS is a perk I gotta get my hands on to see what really needs changing about it.

They should rework this perk to a Scourge Hook perk and instead of having obsession requirement it triggers anytime you hook someone on a scourge hook.

Back from testing. I tried using both Nemesis and Furtive Chase to keep the uptime at a maximum, but both methods required so much set-up and planning for such a mediocre effect that it’s not even worth it.

On top of that, it safeguards generators from Pop, which is what you’re probably going to be using if you’re running DMS. So, the only reliable way to regress gens with DMS are Surge, Eruption, and Oppression. But good luck activating those perks within the 45-second time frame that DMS is active.

SO, in conclusion to my testing, I would like to propose some changes to my existing rework to address all of the issues:

It may seem like a bit much, but for all the work you’re putting in to use this bad boy, you’d better get what you paid for. Now that it’s a Scourge Hook, the need for Furtive Chase or Nemesis is no more. Plus, along with lasting longer, DMS will damage gens for you, allowing it to be used in conjunction with Surveillance to keep the gens in check once they’re unblocked.

Wow thanks for putting in that work! I really like your suggestion for this :D it doesn't seem op and it makes it a perk worth running ^^
