Level 3 Tome 8 promotes bad gameplay.
Every survivor working through the new tome has to do this challenge to progress their tome with no alternate pathway, which will lead to hookbombing every game for the next 24-48hours minimum.

benjo's gonna have fun with people taking protection hits

you all called me crazy but mettle of mither is gonna be the solo meta for the next 48 hours.

Unhook and emblem challenges should just be retired at this point, I don't mind people partaking in gameplay that isn't the norm but hook rushing is so annoying.

It's not that bad. There's been others far worse, some you have to throw the game to complete. Least this on you can use the We're gonna farm forever perk.

You need safe unhooks, so it is not that bad. But probably noone will do gens :D

Follow the killer to the hook
Tank the hit, unhook with BT, tank another hit.
Do that 5 times and challenge done.
Alternativelly you juat play the game as usuall and get it naturally over time.
But who has time for that amirite?

You've been beaten and brutalized by a slasher in the dark fog. A pool of blood forms beneath your feet. You dangle helplessly on a hook, knowing the Entity will soon take you. The killer scours the horizon for his next victim, preparing to advance the next phase of his diabolical plan.
Another survivor runs up to you with the killer only feet away. "A true friend!" He says aloud.
Wait no, the killer is right there, don't unhook me. He'll just rip us apart!
"A true friend!" The survivor says again with a bigger smile as the killer smacks him upside the head. You get hit as well, and your vision goes gray from the pain. The survivor follows right behind you, an even bigger smile spreading wildly across his face.
"A true friend!" The survivor says again as he is slammed to the ground by the slasher in tow. Your heart is racing, and only stops once the other survivor is picked up. You find your favorite corner and begin to mend yourself and begin to giggle. There was a book you picked up recently. You understand now. A smile spreads across your face.
A true friend.

I wish players would chill with such challenges. Three weeks until Tome Level 4 is released, there is more than enough time to complete challenges like this during normal gameplay.

Why "bad gameplay"? Isn't already what a Survivor should do, to do a safe unhook and to take protection hit when needed?
We already do that without a tome challenge. I don't see the issue.

Wait until your friends do not do gen, and only crouching around to wait for someone getting down. Then they immediately unhook you with BT right after the killer finishes hooking animation (even in red rank)

Ya I'll take "bring BT and get hit occasionally" any day over hide in killer's terror radius for several minutes. I had multiple games end with 5 gens left doing that. Solo q ftw.

Bhvr need to implement a mechanic where the hooked survivor can deny a unhook if the killer is near. Perks are useless in hook bombing games so I refuse to hear that argument.

I love the way they smacked that right out as the first survivor challenge. The 240 seconds in chases challenge is also complete horse crap.
They need to pack it in with these grinding challenges. Pain in the ruddy bum.
Can't wait to finish this pass and all the nonsense that goes with it.

It's a tough bottleneck, definitely. I started with the killer side because I knew it would be a nightmare to try to get unhooks while everyone else was doing it too.
I'll be honest and say that, in the past, with these specific challenges, I will reach a point where I get frustrated because I'm fighting three other people for every unhook, and there's always that one David who won't take turns -- and I'll start rushing the hook just so I can try to finish the challenge and move on to something else. I get why people do it -- and I wish the devs hadn't made it a bottleneck in the web.

New survivor perk "Kick to the face". If a survivor attempts to unhook you in the killers terror radius you can press the active ability button to kick them in the face, freeing yourself from the hook and crippling the survivor with a lost health state (or hindered status).
Yes this is a joke for anyone who doesn't get it lol.
