What if we had casual and ranked?
I cannot be the only one who is sick of being thrown against red ranks when I'm a green rank. Like I play this game for fun, not to have to try hard.
So what if we just split the casuals from the try hards? Make a ranked and an unranked. Unranked can go on level instead or something.

Then all the sweats would go bully in casual mode

This is actually what I think.
Also, how to know if I'm casual or sweaty from your rules, OP? I'm not being rude, but I feel it's unclear what is considered casual. Red ranks are just people who play a lot, not always "tryhard".
But I know how unfun it is to face more experienced players.

That never stopped Overwatch, LoL, CoD or any other game with a ranked mode from adding ranked mode.
I think ranked in DbD would be a great idea if they did it similar to some games.
For example, in LoL you could play with a full party in casual but on ranked you could only play a duo with someone if they were near your ranking.
If DbD ranked allowed the max SWF of 2 players and casual could have 4 man SWF i think itd be fine.

Dead by daylight is the only game I've ever played ranked. Cuz I don't have a choice.
I don't think a lot of people comparatively would play ranked.

Yeah, but anytime BHVR introduces a system that's beneficial if not exploited, people exploit it. They tried a system that punished camping and tunneling, survivors just abused it. With all the toxic sweaty players in DBD, they're gonna go bully in casual
1 -
It wouldn't change anything as people would just flock to the mode with faster queue times.

Yeah the problem would be you'd still get people going to casual just to be dbags.
1 -
Like other people said, there would still be try hards in casual.
They are working on adding MMR and a different rank style so i have hope that the "ranked" mode will become good for both when that happens.

Exactly. Great idea on paper. Poor execution of idea. 100% all sweats would go bully casual players

Overwatch, LoL and CoD are far, far more balanced games that actually function at the highest level and has minimal to none RNG involved in the deciding of a match.
None of which can be said about DbD. Game balance is a joke, tournament level play is a bad joke and the game's often decided the moment the map loads up.
There's no incentive or reward to get better. Thus, a ranked mode will stay a nice pipe dream until BHVR actually seriously-- and I mean seriously fixes their game.

BHVR will never give a damn until another game threatens their profits, and they have a stranglehold on the licenses

Ranked games are a mistake and should have never been brought into existence. All they do is make basement-dwelling nobodies believe that they're the rulers of the universe who can look down on others just because "muh rank".

So.. like they do now?
1 -
It would just split the playerbase and increase queue times for everyone but competitive killers.
1 -
That's due to the ranking system being dogwater, but this would only make it worse
0 -
I think only way casual v ranked would work is if casual was like a no perk/add-on mode, but even then probably wouldn't work.
0 -
How would it make it worst? There's nothing stopping more casual players to play ranked to also play against more casual people.
Besides, more competitive players have literally no other option other than current matchmaking. Would be nice to have a setting where EVERY ONE is actually skilled and playing to win.

What would be the difference between Ranked and Casual exactly?
How would Casual be any less 'sweaty'?
How would you prevent the more experienced players being matched with less experienced players and wiping the floor with them? Maybe some kind of skill-based ranking system that matches players of equal or similar skill level?
What would incentivise players to not try too hard to win? Perhaps if Casual mode didn't award bloodpoints?
If you haven't realised yet, we already have the two modes available. They're called public matches (ranked) and custom games (casual).

If they have an actual, proper way of measuring skill, as well as actually being able to define a win, as well as some major gameplay balancing, plus an actual incentive to be good and get better at this silly game, then i'd be down for it.

No, and I'm tired of seeing this topic. It wouldn't change the people you face nor their skill level and it would make queue's longer.
We gain nothing from 2 separate modes.
0 -
Well we don't exactly have the masses of sweaty players at rank 20 rn
0 -
This is wrong
0 -
When MMR is turned back on this will all be solved.
0 -
Well then there'll be no casual whatsoever, at least now it's all mixed
0 -
No, there's definitely a casual and definitely a hard core when MMR is re-enabled. If you play casually, then you'll only deal with casual players, if you play hard core, then you will only play against hard core players.

I play casual but I'm still a good killer. Win too many matches and you end up against the sweats

Overwatch at least I think offers rewards for ranked mode. Too lazy to look the others up.
Also sweaty four man SWF's playing nothing but casual? Really?

Survivors rank

killer rank

why have ranks if it means nothing?

Ranks are disappearing VERY soon so this is kind of a null topic.
