Killer not seeing how many times each survivor was hooked
Does this really prevent killers from tunneling? Because honestly I'd be able to distribute hooks more evenly having that information, because I'm too lazy to keep track in my head how many times I've hooked each survivor. But I'm open to what others think.

i feel like that would just make it easier for certain players to just focus out certain people, thats probably why it isnt a thing.

it somewhat prevents honestly. rather not have killers have it. tunneling feels bad even when its necessary.

It does nothing to prevent tunneling and anyone who tells you otherwise doesn't play killer at all. If I want to tunnel you then I no longer care how many times anyone, including you, has been hooked, I'm tunneling you out of the game so none of that information matters, only you being dead.

Doesn't matter either way, easy to keep track of in head, especially when all the survivors are different characters.

It doesn't prevent anything.
A killer who wants to tunnel out that claudette, will tunnel out that claudette. Doesn't matter if there is a counter or not.
Meanwhile, a killer who doesn't want to tunnel can easily kill a survivor "accidentally". Because he doesn't know who was hooked once or twice.

It makes it so that I accidentally kill people I was never intending to kill. I will tell you right now, I can count to 3 if I want to tunnel someone. Lol.
I cannot remember if someone just barely made it to hook state 2 without getting saved or if one of those 3 Claudettes was hooked a second time. How the hell am I supposed to know? I do not care that much about keeping them alive. Especially if they are going for OVERLY altruistic plays on death hook while damaged. I am just expected to realize they were THAT inept?

I forget all the time who I've hooked and who I haven't. I like to spread out hooks and stuff, I'm often not trying to kill anyone, so if/when I forget who I've hooked I just go AFK so I can move on to a match where I can once again hook survivors (back before I'd go AFK, I sometimes accidentally killed people just trying to figure out my BBQ 4-stack). I've always wanted an actual hook counter; the one we got is super disappointing and only helpful in telling me if one of the first few survivors I hook reaches second state.
There's no way not having the counter prevents tunneling. If the killer is tunneling someone, they are focused on that person. They don't need some ticks on the screen to tell them who they're already focused on.

Its weird that the killer doesnt get that basic info. Its like if survivors were not getting the gen count, hook bar or the EGC bar
The total hook count also is basically useless intrial compared to the individual count. It can be disabled, Its THAT useless BHVR added a config for it.

The issue is it could end up promoting tunneling. Killer and survivor HUDs should always be different, because they require different forms of information to be fairly balanced.

By giving survivors hook counters and not giving them to killer BHVR just showed big middle finger to killers. Nothing new tbh.

Thing is, if you want to tunnel someone out of the game, you don't need to count how many times they've been hooked. You just keep hooking them until they're out.
Without this information, it's easy to lose track of who's been hooked how many times, and accidentally tunnel people out of the game.
So I'd say the lack of this information leads to more tunnelling.

True, i try to always run a mori to know whos dead and who isn't when i down them (if i have one avaliable.) so i don't merc somebody way too early, since it feels mean. But i think BHVR is mostly balancing around the idea of tunneling. Theoretically, there would be a small amount of situations where a killer might use the info to tunnel, and because the idea is there its likely BHVR will never give that info to the killer. If you wanna be nice, you'll probably just have to stick to keeping track of whos gotten hooked.

People who say this information would lead to tunneling need to seriously reevaluate what tunneling means.
If you plan on doing everything in your power to get one player out of the game then you don't need a reminder of who that one person is.
If you are a player that when they see survivors struggling want to go easy a bit then having a reminder of who is or isn't on deadhook would prevent accidental premature saccrifices.
Also a reminder of who the person is you didn't get a bbq stack out of would be nice too.

I too see no reason for killers not to be able to see survivors' individual hook states. This is a quality of life change that should have happened long ago.

Yeah. People are focusing too much on the negatives here, understandably so in a way, while forgetting that this takes tools away from Killers that decide to take it easier due to a DC or suicides. It's one of those issues this game will always suffer, Killers viewing everyone as a tryhard SWF and Survivors never even considering the option that the Killer is just messing about.
Not once did the current system prevent me from tunneling someone annoying out, but there's been countless times I've accidentally Killed someone, when I could've gone for someone else to make the game a bit more fun for everyone.

I don't think it ever prevented tunneling, opposite is true.
I have killed lot of players by accident, where I usually wouldn't. It can be hard to know, when they have same skins or I switched targets a lot during game.
