If Survivors choose a totem to light for Boons, let Killers choose their Hex totem locations.
It's only fair, Hex spawns are horrible.
Also, Boons are a terrible idea and I hope the Devs aren't actually serious in thinking Killers need MORE stuff to worry about. You DO NOT have the time to hunt for a totem, period, end of discussion.
STOP MAKING KILLER MISERABLE TO PLAY. GET A GRIP.

I think boon totems could be good if done right.
I'm not against the idea but how would it even work? Aren't you still wasting time looking for a spot to put your totem? Also if you come across a survivor and they see you place the totem then wouldn't that make the time you took to place the totem lost.

It seems that way. Boon Totems were announced during the anniversary stream. Unless there was update I am unaware of we know nothing of boom totems or how they work.

Just play full hex build including HG, they won't have anywhere to put them

We still don't know how they work yet or what the effects will be.
If it gets survivors wasting time setting them up, then it could just as easily favour the killer is certain scenarios.

I think the problem is time. Survivors have more time to find and do a totem and have many ways to locate it. Killers can't easily spend time to walk to a part of the map where there isn't a gen and look for a totem (assuming you have to look for them).

I always thought the gnome event was a test for the killer animation for destroying boon totems. Very cool if that is how killers snuff them out ^^

Well looks like it's pretty much 99% confirmed boon totems are coming. So lets see what the effects are for survivors :), hopefully something worth running.

ya know, on reddit, I mentioned that some cocky survivor that would complain when told the same about noed would make that exact comment. LMFAO. this game is so dead once Evil dead is out, after this horrible past year, especially throughout this year, sweat mmr, constant clear and obvious survivor bias, man this game is so dead next year LUL. with all the crappy totem spawn, you're more likely going to find by chasing a survivor, spawning next to it or in case of maps like Yamamoka, just find it next to a gen.

You said you dont have time to hunt Boom, so you dont have time to set your Hex.
Beside, good luck with your Hex build if 4 Survivors bring in Boon. You're not able to use your perks.
Though I guess Boon only lit for a limited of time, then gone completely, or requires them to bless again. Im not sure after Boon un-lit and become Dull again, will Noed spawn?

Because there’s ONE Killer as opposed to FOUR Survivors. Killer DOES NOT have time to do this.

I think it is quite funny to imagine that Killers might complain about hidden Totem Spots when they cant find a Boon-Perk.

The difference is is that they’re two different sides. If a killer looks for bones, gens will get done incredibly fast. There isn’t a time limit for survivors, as they control the speed of the game. If survivors are very good at hiding, they could take as long as they like to do bones and gens. Of course most survivors aren’t very good at hiding and most killers are good at finding survivors, but its still a plausible situation. For killers, they can’t exactly afford to look around the map for bones

How long does it take to 'bless' a totem?
What effect does it give the survivor?
Is that effect strong enough that the killer has to snuff it out, or could it be more beneficial to leave it up if it means not wasting time searching for the totem?
We don't know these things yet.
Also, this won't be very useful if the killer is running Undying. Killer will see the aura of any survivor attempting to bless a totem, and so even if they get it off, the killer will know where it is.

there is only one killer and four survivors, the killer has no time to spare especially against an even somewhat competent swf to go running around plucking flowers too.

I know that. My point is, we don't know that Boon perks will be strong enough that the killer will be forced to find the totem.
- Killer will most likely find the survivor near the boon totem, so they won't have to look far.
- Killer could easily stumble across the boon totem.
- Killer could put up with the perks effects, just like how survivors put up with Ruin and pound out gens anyway.
- Survivors have to spend time setting up their boon totem. However much time this is, it's time they're not doing gens.

This is getting pretty silly. Survivors are already gen rushing and slow killers are having hard time keeping up and now we have to do bones? How about you add another task for the survivors and leave the killers be?

Killer won't have to look for bones. If we assume undying works as is, then you would be able to see survivors. And we don't know if the perks are worth running, they might another batch of useless/niche perks. Or they may be like killer hex perks they may be high risk high reward perks. So they may be up for less then a minute, and overall be one less meta perk killers have to worry about.

Not everyone wants to run Undying and if the Perk is good enough you will absolutely have to look for it. Otherwise Boons are useless. The fact is there is only ONE Killer who is heavily restricted in time as is, you cannot afford to go totem hunting.

Where can I read about Boons I went to the survivor tutorial of how to play and there’s no section for boons under cleansing

In a perfect world, it would act like Freddy's teleport, basically. You spawn in, all totems auras are highlighted, and you look in the totem's direction and push a button to "Bind" the hex to the totem. (Which would be instant and has no range limitation.)
So you'd arguably "still" have time, I guess. It gets hairy when you have multiple hex perks though and if the totems are far away you have no idea if they're exposed or not unless you recognize their placement.

I honestly would not put it past BHVR to make a boon part of base kit to, say, increase the speed all actions by 4% rather than have them a full on perk.
I really don't like the idea of giving killers a survivor objective, they're on a serious time crunch as it is, but let's see what they do.

I LOOK FOR TOTEMS AS A SOLO SURVIVOR, I RUN DETECTIVES HUNCH. I have stopped MULTIPLE NOEDS from going off. You absolutely have time, it’s not your fault nor the Killers if your teammates are awful and don’t last 2 seconds in a chase.
If your teammates are at the very least competent, you have time.

I don't know, but at least how it used to be in red ranks. I would see undying with ruin at least in half of my matches. So it's a pretty popular combo. But either way it's 99% confirmed at this point boon totems are coming. So just the bones if they do come.

Killers should not have an extra objective. They have no time. Anyone who thinks this is okay does not play mid to low tier Killers in high ranks. If you hate seeing Blights Spirits and Nurses now, oh BOY just you wait.

What happens if killer occupies all 5 totems and survivors also bring 5 boon totems... All i can think of is Totem respawn but only for Survivors.

Well we have Hex: Plaything with Cenobite, so maybe it's kind of a counter since the survivors would have to run around breaking totems and thus losing their Boon
