First Impressions of Pinhead: Weak with Potential
I played around seven hours of pinhead, and from what I can tell, he isn't the worst killer, but definitely isn't very viable. His chains can preform fairly well, but this is keeping in mind rng, which can really mess up what someone does. For example, when I hit a survivor with my chain in a certain area, the chains can spawn on the other side of a wall, causing it to immediately break. The best areas to use the chain are in short loops, but even so the rng can mess you over and ruin a play, so there's that. Also (ik its a bug just wanna metion it) Pinhead's swing is really weird. When it comes to how he was adapted, I would say that they did good with the use of the chain, but he still feels too familiar to some other ranged killer (maybe its just me). I feel like with a few more tweaks, he can start to preform better, and feel a bit more like Pinhead.

I've been getting destroyed by Pinhead game after game with ~4 gens remaining each time so for me personally he doesn't need to perform any better. :')
I straight up don't know how to solve the puzzlebox when the random chains that appear keep interrupting me. I don't know how to dodge his portal chain. And I (eventually) go down every time I try to solve the puzzlebox and if I'm on death hook it feels like I effectively just removed myself from the game by summoning him towards me, but if no one else is doing the box...
I need help. <3

I have lots of fun playing Pinhead but I completely agree with all of your complaints. He's an add-on dependent killer in my opinion and needs some changes so that he could be viable as a killer by himself.

If you keep the box for too long, chains will start spawning. If your solving the box, chains shouldn't attack you, so this might be a bug.
Best way to get it out of the ballpark, from my experience, is to knock it out once the killer is carrying someone to a hook, is in a chase, or at the start of the match.
Also keep in mind that it is the first few days, the post I made was for first impressions so do please take it with a grain of salt.

Thanks for the tip! It does feel unfair that chains can interrupt the box solving, so I hope that's a bug. I guess I just need to face him more and practise.

Never heard of this guy before but someone recommended his video. I think he might be onto something. He brings range add ons and most of the match he is focusing on harassing the person trying to solve the box. His goal is to launch a chain to interrupt the person solving the box. Then once interrupted he chases them down to keep the chain hunt going. If he can keep the hunt going it actually applies a lot of pressure.

Strange.. basically exactly what streamers said.. copycat?

Well I don't watch any streamer and I pretty much agree with what he says

He is just another solo team stomper killer that has a hard time against coordinated SWF on comms. Run ruin/undying and benefit from none of the solo survivors knowing who is going for the box or working gens or looking for the totems. Either way, half the team is being chased or going for saves and the other half is dealing with chain hunt or trying to find totems and no one is doing gens.
This game could be balanced so much better if they would just add in some simple ways for solo survivors to communicate. A global ping system like League of Legends that let you say things like Being Chased, Going for Save, Going for the Box, etc. would help close the gap without giving any extra benefit to a SWF team that is using comms. Then if he starts to under perform, buff him.

why does that matter in any way, I stated that this was from what I gathered from the short time that I played him.

This play-style looks like fun. Problem is that he is highly addon and map dependent.
