Feedback and my opinion on the current state of Dead by Daylight

I've played DBD for quite some time, and this is the first time I felt like I needed to reach out and offer my feedback as I would like to see the game head in a positive direction. I would also like to point out that I do play survivor and killer at rank 1 before SBMM was introduced and after as well, so I'm not really biased towards either side but want to see the game be as balanced as possible. Perhaps what I'd like to see isn't what the developers wish, or what others wish, but in my opinion I think it would be healthy for the game if some things were addressed.

First, I think something should be done about stretched resolution, filters, and being able to just brighten up the screen. In my opinion this is cheating, and I've heard from people that the developers also call this cheating. I don't think the survivors should be able to look over obstacles they shouldn't be able to look over just because they stretched their screen, not only this but it seems like it becomes easier to break killers like Ghostface out of stealth. Not to mention it just makes the possibility for mindgaming and outplaying people harder when they can just see you when they shouldn't be able to. In cases for killers, the Nurse during her fatigue can also see more of the screen and see where survivors are moving during it. Do we just accept that some people will have advantages over others by doing this? Do we all have to give in and do these things too just to be on an even playing field? I for one would rather the game be played how it was intended and not have to use this to gain an advantage over others, I still don't use any of these but maybe in time I will have no choice but to do so.

Second, I do like that MMR has been introduced to the game but I don't feel like the ranks, now called grades, matter anymore. It's just a participation rank, the more you play, eventually you'll get to rank 1 and earn 250k bloodpoints every month on the 13th, or 500k if you reach rank 1 on both survivor and killer, which I do believe the rewards for that should be a bit higher for that considering I can get more than 500k BP in just a day, having to wait a month for 500k seems a bit lackluster in my opinion. But back to MMR, ranks, and grades, I don't think there is anything wrong with having a ranking system or being able to see someone's MMR. I feel like this gives people a goal to reach, to become better through practice and reach a better rank, to reach a higher MMR and see where you stand on the list of killers or survivors out there. Right now, you can't see MMR and you're just going to inevitably go up in grades the more you play, there is nothing to gain or lose once you reach rank 1. You can't depip anymore, so losing isn't something you have to worry about and that kind of takes the competitive feeling out of it, the want to actually win and try your best. I understand casuals play too, people say they play for fun, but I refuse to believe that anyone plays to lose. I'm sure anyone would have more fun winning than losing, and if they didn't care why do people, even casuals, complain about perks, killers, etc as well? I do like that the SBMMR has separate MMR for each killer, but again I feel because some killer are more viable than others, once you reach a certain MMR you're just going to be playing against the same killers over and over again as survivor due to many killers just being unable to reach that high MMR. I understand perfect balance will never be achieved but making sure that each killer as well as survivor, has a chance at winning depending on their skill level and how they perform that determines whether they get a win or not. SBMMR is pretty new so maybe improvements will happen in time, but this is my thoughts on that.

Lastly, I really wish the game moves on a path that strives to reach a balanced state as close as it can possibly get. I know I talked a bit about this just now, but some killers just don't feel viable to play. At least with survivor you can pick any character you wish to play and put whatever perks you want on them. As a certain killer, you're stuck with the power you're given, the movement speed, terror radius, so on. Some matches I play, I completely destroy survivors with one or not even one generator being completed, but this feels more like the survivors not playing as well and making mistakes rather than me just outplaying them, which I know I can do a lot of the time. But then there is matches, where you go against four man SWF, or just four decent players that know what to do and the gens feel like they're popping left and right in no time. I feel this when I play survivor as well as usually it's either a decent or good team, or a terrible one. I don't know how better balance would be achieved when there is so many different killers, perks, and so on, but more balance would be amazing in my opinion. I just want to see the game in a state where, a killer can actually have a chance against a good 4 man SWF fairly often, instead of only sometimes because a lot of the time if you do encounter a good 4 man SWF, it's pretty difficult a lot of the time to come out on top. Maybe having a penalty to gen repair speed the more people you have in a party? 10% with two, 15% with three, and 20% with four people? Just a suggestion, I'm sure other people can think of better ways to balance these things but I would welcome anything at this point to push the game in a more balanced state for everyone.

Apologies for the lengthy post, but as I said before this is the first time I felt the need to reach out on the forum and post my thoughts. I do love playing this game and I do want to see it head in a positive direction, so these are my thoughts for now and I'm sure I'll feel a bit better just throwing all this out there and getting it off my chest and perhaps this feedback can be taken in some positive form for anyone who reads it. Thanks!
