Please give players an incentive to sweat with SBMM
No, 250k bp is ridiculously small, bloodpoints are getting saturated for older players. U add SBMM into a 'party' game with no incentive for players, so what's the point? I understand SBMM is still fairly new but even the dumbest players are aware that 250k bp a month is nothing.

That's right

Shards would be better like I have 1600+ hours with the game and I haven't unlocked every DBD original killers.
Not to mention that survivors cost the exact same as killers lmao. Admittedly I wasted some shards on dumb crap in Shrine of secret but I don't think I would have unlocked everything regardless.
2 -
That's not SBMM, though, that's Grades.
7 -
The incentive on survivor is clear. I've never had a better solo queue experience in 3 years of playing the game. 3 outing Agi/Starstruck range Nurses and Alchemist Ring/Blighted Crow Blights. Four great players will beat anything. Loving solo queue right now.
On killer, games are tremendously hard at high MMR. Not unwinnable though. I'm still winning most of my games. Sweating hard though. I think there are a ton of killers who are going to have to adjust to playing against good players who make good decisions.
2 -
The main issue is that the game simply isn't designed for tryharding.
3 -
No?
It's a casual game.
0 -
then why SBMM? it's casual and not competitive
7 -
Oh that's even worst now that you've mentioned in, meaning there is 0 incentive to get high mmr
0 -
It's not unwinnable i agree, but you have to take this game competitively to win but there's no point in doing that cause there are no rewards. Take csgo or dota, you don't get rewards for reaching high ranks but at least it's displayed, it has meaning to it. The devs have already said Grades have no function but don't disclose the MMR we're in
0 -
Shards work but it still seems like a lazy solution. You could do so much more, but i'll take shards anytime. At least u can buy cosmetics with them
1 -
I would prefer shards myself but I understand that this would impact profits, and like any game company BHVR is a for-profit business.
No offense but it doesn't matter what they do. People said that the game is too much of a "grind" (which I don't quite understand, since if the game is fun then it shouldn't be a grind, being that there's no ultimate end goal, and if the game ISN'T fun then there's no reason to play it) so BHVR added an incentive that's thousands if not hundreds of thousands more BP per month than we were already getting and people are STILL complaining.
I mean, no personal offense, but can people be happy about ANYTHING that this company does? Why even play a game that frustrates you in so many endless ways? I know I'm in the minority but #########, people are mad that the BP reward isn't enough and I'm sitting here thinking "I'll take the extra BP that I wasn't getting before, thank you".
3 -
It's not just the amount of bloodpoints, idc if they give 1mil bp per side it's still pointless to me and to many older players. We have what we need maxed out to the point we can very quickly p3 a new character.
You're right, shards might not work. But you get punished for being good at the game with no rewards or anything to display
2 -
yes, but obtaining higher grades is going to require you to win and do well in games, which does stand in direct correlation to MMR.
0 -
To protect new players.
Simple.

It WOULD be nice if the BP cap were removed but, again, there's no specific reason to 3-50 a character other than personal pride (which is understandable, I was proud when I 3-50'd Meg) and a set of bloody clothes. I mean it's just a hollow reward that says "you played a lot". A lot of games do this and I feel like we as players have been conditioned to feel that we need to eagerly rush to that goal as fast as possible to prove ourselves, to "achieve" something, when in fact it's really nothing of an achievement other than a gauge of how many games you've played which, at the end of the day, doesn't mean anything.
I'm not trying to knock your argument or your feelings on the subject, just expressing my confusion as to why people seem to want so many incentives to play the game. Again, if it's fun, it shouldn't require a bunch of incentives. It's already enjoyable. To me there IS no grind, the "grind" is simply playing the game over and over - not for a specific goal, but because I'm happy spending my time in such a way. And if the game is NOT fun, and someone isn't happy with it unless more rewards and prizes are given, then why play, you know? What's the value of a reward that comes at the cost of doing something you otherwise don't like? And if you DO like it, why does there need to be further reward?
0 -
You'll never get an answer, I've tried many times, they just keep in an endless loop argument. People want SBMM but don't want any rewards for getting good from it because potato.
2 -
Because people asked for it for over 4 years, and it's better than their old mmr system. There had always been an mmr system in the game, but it had problems because hey kept trying to make it work with considering the players rank. With the new SBMM and Grade system, they just updated their old MMR system, and removed any clauses having it interact with your rank (grade).
2 -
Give me charm or something I can show off and make Grades based on SBMM, so it has meaning.
1 -
exactly, something simple like that would be a good start
0 -
People have been asking for this game to turn "competitive", but the devs are not fully commited to it. That's why the updates feel imcomplete
0 -
I dont know why you need to protect new players in what you call a "Casual" game, it's like among us having a ranked matchmaking
0 -
Because you're one of the few who has fun in playing the game. This game can be a lot more enjoyable and serious if they fully commited to being competitive.
0 -
They will NEVER be "full committed" to the game being competitive, because it's IMPOSSIBLE. It's an asymmetrical game. By definition it can't be a competitive game because it never will be balanced enough to be a competitive game.
1 -
Yes the rng can't be fixed because it takes away a lot out of the game. But perks, killers and maps can always be balanced. You add SBMM along with incentives for us to play competitively, and done you've got yourself a working game. Not gonna be as balanced as other competitive games, but is unique in it's own way. But nah, 250k bp
0 -
They never added an incentive to play competitively. SBMM is entirely hidden, you don't even know what constitutes a win. In competitive games you can track your MMR, and understand the standards to raise that MMR.
The Grades is literally Ranks, but now reset to Rank 20 and give you BP depending on the rank you get by the next reset. The pip system is entirely built around the idea that no matter how bad you do, if you play enough you will be rewarded. That's not competitive. Competitive would only punish you for playing poorly, and reward you for playing well. A casual game rewards you for just playing the game. In addition to that the Rank/Grade system no longer allows you to derank/degrade. If you get to Iri 1 / Rank 1, you will never go back to rank 2 till the next reset. That shows 0 incentive to play competitively. You can play as casual as you want, and you will never lose rank.
Literally the entire update is against your idea that the game has become more competitive.
0 -
SBMM may be hidden but we definitely know when we're going against sweaty and good players. The fact that SBMM is added means the game tries to be competitive but as i have said gives no incentive for players to be in high mmr and play to win. I dont know why u decided to still state that the game isn't competitive, it's trying to be but is failing miserably. So either commit to it or just don't
0 -
Maybe it fails miserably because nobody wants to play competitively in this game, because there isn't any competitive thing ? Unlike LoL, StarCraft, CS, ...., You will never go in a tournament and gain a lot of moneys.
If players seek a competitive game, DbD is not the right game, DbD should NOT be competitive. It's a fun multiplayer game, and a perfect balance won't ever happen because of the assymetric thing.
Oh and
Nobody will sponsor some serious tournaments for another thing : bugs, the plethora of bugs the game has, and will have.

Bloodpoints are oversaturated with the ever-growing grind. They're not keeping up with inflation.
Thanks, Boomers.
0 -
They should add daily rewards that includes Iridescent Shards.
I think people will stop complain about the end-game points.
0 -
With this grind? These bloodpoints don't keep up. Players need a raise.
0 -
Exactly, so might as well just get rid of sbmm
0 -
You get the best incentive of all. Less games of dbd! Maybe it my poor luck but my god does it take ages to get a god damn game.
0 -
So you want to ONLY play against Spirit/Nurse or small pp build survivors?
0 -
?
All the events, log in rewards, challanges, dailies, WGLFE, BBQ, double points offerings... What the ######### do you need more points for?!
0 -
I don't see what the problem is with "small pp build", ds is worthless and you barely come across full sweaty swf with the previous mm system
0 -
Exactly…they should do 1 skin per month where gold and higher gets that skin or sth.
0 -
Becusse its a team game so casual doesn't mean you don't want to play with teammates of roughly your skill level.
I mean that's the intention behind sbmm not necessarily hiw they have implemented it becuase quite frankly the system in place is really not looking at the right things
