Competitive game without ranks?
Well since the introduction of SBMMR the game has clearly became a sweatfest party, playing all games like if its the champions leagur finale. But now the ranks mean nothing, because your skill is determined by sbmmr. So basically, why is the game getting more and more competitive but now ranks mean nothing? Being rank 1 now means you grinder for it the required games, not your skill. So whats the point of having a competitive game without having ranks? There is no feel of getting good or any feeling of ranking up. Just imagine League of Legens or counter strike without ranks, all games are ranked but you cant see your rank. There is something here weird, this is the first competitive game i have seen in my life without an actual ranking system in which you cant rank down, where is the competition and the satisfaction of winning?

The ranks that were here before meant basically just that you were playing more, not just that, but if you have 2 people with the exact same skill and one played few hours weekly - they would have much lower rank than someone who played multiple hours each day.
There's still ranks, you just can't see them basically. There's the mmr. Instead of going against someone who is close to your rank, you go against someone who is closer to your skill.
