Hopefully now they have consistent data with the system they can start doing proper balancing to the game. In a year or 2 we may be getting proper matches lol.

I won't hold my breath but it's possible.

I'm doing fine. Most of the poor functionality seems to be coming from players that were winning most of their trials pre-mmr, so far as I can tell.

That was expected. I knew it would eventually fail.

And again more than 50% on here don't know how a normal elo system works.

This is what I posted in another thread to this topic:

"You know that most systems start player of at a mid ranking? For example in online chess you start with an elo of 1500 as a new player and from there have to play many matches to get were you belong (with the top sitting at roughly 2700-2800 in this example).

From my point of view it seems that behaviour did the same instead of starting new player at 0.

This would also explain your situation sitting in the middle of the elo and getting matched with people above and below in a certain rang.

Btw league of legends does something similar. You have to play your account up to level 30 to give the system a rough estimate and then can join ranked queue where you get also matched with people above and below you to finally triangulate your rank."

Edit: just for clarification, the person this is addressed to had according to themselves less than 10 hours on killer overall and was whining why on the first game with a until then unplayed killer weren't easy survivors.

before rank reset I was red rank 4 as survivor and rank 1 as killer.

ranks have changed and reset to basically 20.

I find it is hard to climb up again as I am facing what we would call red ranks at like low rank.

but it’s changed so rank doesn’t really matter but if you’re wanting to get to red I think it is hard to get there. Well slower! When you’re facing people that were red rank before reset.
