Further rift pass incentives
Hi, I wanted to write about the rift pass, comparing the experience to the Call of Duty battle pass system. In Call of Duty (And I think other games with a battle pass) - there is actually an incentive to purchase the pass early as your earned XP increases by 10%. I think Dead by Daylight can easily incorporate this as an incentive for an instant rift pass purchase due to the slightly improved progession, whereas currently you may as well just wait until you hit tier 70 to be sure you won't lose out.
Another thing the Call of Duty battle pass does is free premium currency. In that game's system, you purchase for 1000 currency, earn it back (like DBD) but there's also a free earnable 300 currency with the pass not required for purchase. Now in this instance, DBD is different
Firstly, since it only takes 500 auric cells to purchase a killer, I'd straight up say you can't give these away to free users as it'll likely actually result in a loss of purchases. It's also viable to give a smaller amount, to give users 200 cells of profit requires them to complete 2 and a half passes just to unlock one char, or two full ones to unlock a 400 cell cosmetic, I think giving a reward as small as this for premium users only is also a good way to incentivise people to get into the rift pass ecosystem, while not losing out on potential sales. Right now for me, the rift pass does not feel worth early purchasing due to no bonus, and a little underwhelming comparatively
