Can we please delete Kindred
And make it a base mechanic? Please, solo would benefit greatly and the balance team can balance killers and perks around it. SWF already has it, it's high time solo gets it. It will discourage killers from camping and promote less frustrating matches.
I understand that seeing the direction the killer goes is strong, so in order to fix that, the aura of the killer should remain static for 7 seconds or however long it takes for them to get out of the range for Kindred. This way, if they camp, the aura remains, and if they don't camp, after a few seconds, the aura will just disappear, giving no indication of where the killer went.
Also, please implement the obsession tentacles for all survivor portraits and make the obsession have red colored ones. This way, when any survivor is in a chase, their tentacles can wiggle and everyone will know.
Now, before you make a decision, look deeply into my eyes and realize that you agree and pay no mind to any doubts that may arise!

Kindred is still very useful in SWF. We don't have to speak on where the killer is going because we can already see it, so we can react faster. It is also useful when mindgaming a camping killer at the killer shack if they are camping a hooked survivor in the basement.
The only way to bring solo anywhere near close to SWF without buffing SWF as well, is to have ingame comms. The majority may not use the ingame comms, but they will listen to it (all it takes is one good survivor to communicate to the whole group to make them effective), which already brings solo somewhere in the vicinity of SWF.

I'd rather base kit kindred over hearing mouth breathing 14 year olds. I know it will be more work for the balancing team, but it is the better option.

Or worse, the inevitable screaming of a kid and their parent, or terrible music blasting distorted nonsense in proximity - or worse, across the map. Voice comms are part of why a lot of other asymmetrical horror games fail.

There were so many times I sit on Gen and thinking why other 2 didnt unhook team mate. Wonder if they rushed Gen. I ran across the map and saw killer proxy camp the hook, and other 2 already attempt to unhook. Then I ran across the map to continue on gen. I lose at least a min just to run across the map twice. All those time should be on Gen. Since I was middle of the 4th Gen.
Have the perk also work on stealth killer too

Deathgarden had voice comms and I never experienced that. If it happens, mute them.
Making a kindred base kit still makes SWF stronger than solo.

I would like to see in-game comms similar to Rocket League. Use the D-Pad (on PS) which is currently completely unused in the game to send some pre-selected comms. Things like "I'm going for rescue", "Killer is on me", "Killer is at hook", "I'm clear for save", etc. This is text, not voice, which solves the mouth breathing problem and it keeps it from becoming a method for harassing people. The system RL uses to implement this allows for 16 "quick chat" items that you can select from a list of... I don't know I'd guess about 150. And, honestly, it is rare that you would need to say more than 16 unique things within a game to get your point across. Sure its not as good as voice, but it is still pretty darn good. I find myself using it all of the time in RL even when I have voice available because it is faster than voice once you are used to using it.

however drastically evens the gap. we can't expect solo and swf to ever be even because swf have the guarantee of decent teammates, but we can make certain changes to the basekit to bring them a hell of a lot closer than they currently are.

It isn't closer, you are just increasing the power of both. Solo gets more powerful, SWF gets more powerful, it doesn't solve anything other than making the game harder for killers.

It only slightly increases the power of SWF. It doesn't take away killer agency and it encourages killers to not camp. Yes, it will be harder for killers to camp a survivor, the horror!
They can also do as others have said and just take away the killers aura all together. There, it's no longer harder for the killer and the current perk can be kept as is in order to give the survivors the option of revealing the killer if they so choose to equip it.

No. Killer main the whole purpose is teamwork SWF DOESN'T have it if your out of the sight of the hooked so stop making this super causal for surviving and killers are literally playing literally name a game that becomes brolen and favorite to one side.

Yeah but this perk is only truly effective for camping and proxy guarding, it not being a perk is way to much situational awareness and not even REALISTIC and honestly I know its not all going to be but the small things should count. swf shouldn't be the reason something is changed because someone doesn't want to waste a perk on something they clearly need often. Suck it up, run borrowed time, there safe hook. End.

Someone in a SWF can let their team know if the killer is still there, if they left and what direction the killer went. It really isn't much different than kindred. And no, the game wouldn't break, the only thing that would break are lazy killers who want to camp and feed off of survivor altruism, in hopes of getting an easy 4k.

People are too stupid to use the information Kindred gives you when it's in a game now. I doubt making it basekit will change that. As for the aura not moving, that would kill most of it's usefulness. Half it's value is in spotting Insidious campers.

Instead of making Kindred base-kit, I'd say maybe just add a quick chat (like @max_coffeebreath said) so that it doesn't buff comms in a way. To compensate for this quick chat, buff killers to handle the comms.

I feel that Bond should be basekit but not anything that tells the survivor where the killer is. That should always be a perk IMO.

If the devs ever decide to seriously go for the whole "close the gap" between solo and SWF, something like that will eventually have to happen. Or a comm wheel + context sensitive status button so people can do quick communication like "I'm being chased" and "I'm going for the save". Increased efficiency that can be reasonably assumed to be accessible by all survivors that can be balanced around.
Maybe in 2072, when the last person clinging to the honestly delusional pipe dream that is direct mechanical nerfs to SWF finally wakes up or quits for good π

The killer knowing you can see their local area and know all survivors can see each other may fix camping but it won't fix proxy/distance camping. They may as well not bother.
