Game freezes on "Looking for match"

My game keeps freezing on "Looking for match" - It won't join any games and the cancel button is greyed out and doesn't do anything when pressed. The only way to proceed is to close the game and re-open it, it'll then search for a match and find one within 5 seconds so I know it's not just long wait times! This is on PS5 and has only started since the last update.
