Nerf IW
With the upcoming spirit nerf i think it’s only fair that IW caps at atleast 50%

I agree it needs a nerf but that would destroy it.

Should be disabled while running. Boom fixed
20 -
I agree with that.

It only works when you're injured (basically Exposed) and you can still track by blood trail and footstep sounds... it doesn't necessarily need a nerf. If anything, it could be changed to reduce the frequency of injured sounds (from every ~2 seconds to maybe every 6 or so) and then lower the volume of injured sounds across the board, especially for those who need it badly. Some Survivors are just WAY too loud (looking at Bill, Jane and Jeff), and even ones that aren't as loud as them are still pretty dang loud, like Meg. When I play Killer, it's way too easy to find injured Survivors when they're not using Iron Will just because their agony can be heard from so far away.
So many people use Iron Will because Survivors are too loud when they're injured in general. Not to mention it's pretty grating to hear your Survivor constantly pitch a fit.

Because a perk is very good against 1/25 killers or by the sole reason that they are getting a fair counterplay you dont need to nerf it.
should we then also nerf the perk calm spirit for clown, doctor and the cenobite?
1 -
Iron Will currently provides absurd value for zero input and zero opportunity for counterplay. You shouldn't be able to delete a game mechanic entirely by simply equipping a perk.
27 -
It's fine. You can see blood, scratch marks, and hear footsteps. Use your eyes.
10 -
No, it's good against every killer and it's even better against one of them. Why do you think no one complains about calm spirit?
9 -
Ok but they had to nerf a perk (Stridor) that was only good on 1/25 killers and was overall situational at best. Yet it’s fine Iron Will gets to stay in it’s busted form.
10 -
That's a very "perfect world" point of view. Survivors break LOS (not to mention indoor maps exist). Do you play Nurse or Spirit? Scratch marks are one part of tracking, and an inconsistent one at that. And footstep audio is similarly inconsistent.

I’m a proud IW hater. It really is too strong to warrant how there are no thought, skill or downside from the survivor side. Please just nerf it BHVR.

Now that Spirit is dealt with Iron Will needs a hard nerf. Survivors shouldn't be able to simply delete a game mechanic by equipping a perk. It gives free distance without any input and it's absurd how every Undetectable killer perk has one thousand conditions to work and Iron Will is just there "lulz".
It also has a power creep problem. Any stealth perk that gets released is automatically obsolete compared to IW. There's no reason to run Fixated, Off the Record, Pebble, Dance with Me, Lucky Break Self Preservation, Urban Evasion, etc when this perk exists.
Two of them are unreliable as hell and the last one is muffled by the numbing chase music.

I agree some kind of nerf would be appropriate.
normal breathing sounds while injured should be a given.
i like the idea of normal injured sounds while running or frequency lower or volume not 100% reduced but lower, maybe 95% or something, 50 would make it useless.. and definitely not all of this together

I have never had a problem with IW. I do play Spirit from time to time.
1 -
Iron Will is perfectly fine.
5 -
No just revert the stridor nerf and I think it's fine.
1 -
IW is consistently in the top 5 survivor perks used on several perk tracking sites.
It's an excellent perk that is cemented in the current meta.
Its recent buff (really a rework of sound calculation) doesn't bother me, but I wish they'd let some of the obscure add-ons (like Freddy's) override it.
1 -
Would people be happy if it got the Lucky break treatment. Basically making it so while Injured iron will silences grunts of pain for 1/2/3 minutes and after that it’s disabled the whole game
0 -
They should just get rid of it. There should be no permanent silence perks or add-ons. We need sound cues in order to play the game.

A spirit main wants iron will nerfed. Classic.
2 -
i would because it keeps its strength but at a cost that needs to be managed.
0 -
Im a plague main, and even I think iron will needs nerfed. One perk should not give that sort of an advantage.
0 -
This just put back how stridor was before. There was no need to nerf it.
0 -
IW is good against all killer i think he said spirit as an example because shes the only one who needed to run stridor because of IW
0 -
My idea of how Iron Will should work.
Iron Will:
When injured, Grunts of Pain are reduced by 30/40/50%. As long as you are crouching, this bonus is doubled.
1 -
Bloodhound is amazing.
1 -
Nerf? No!
Fix the fact that it mutes 98% of Survivor sounds? Yes!
0 -
I disagree.
1 -
Stridor was nerfed because it was good one on killer as well. Tit for tat. Also, people don’t run Iron Will solely for Spirit; it’s effective versus every killer in the game.
I’d personally love a nerf to Iron Will. Something simple like what someone already mentioned: it only works when not moving.

Tell me you don't play killer well without telling me you don't play killer well.
2 -
I do and I don't have a problem with IW. 🤷♀️
2 -
Then you don't play against good survivors. Sound is by far the best indicator in tiles of where a survivor is. Not blood. Not scratches. Sound. A survivor having Iron WIll removes your main tracking in short distance.
You either need better headphones, or you're lying. I don't care which+
EDIT: In addition to the fact that the perk allows injured survivors to stealth. Which is what being injured is supposed to counter. Iron Will simply does far too much for what it asks. It's literally zero risk, infinite reward.
It gets used LITERALLY every single game. And if it DOESNT get used then you didnt need any perks to escape the game in which it didn't get used in the first place. There is literally one other perk in the game, survivor or killer, that has both guaranteed benefits, and is also an extremely good perk. Lethal Pursuer. And its active for 7 seconds and gone the rest of the match.

I don't care if you believe me or not and I'm not gonna argue with you. I never lose survivors with IW. It's completely fine.
0 -
We still don’t have official word if that’s actually a bug or a feature of this perk, do we?
it was a question for the Q&A but I guess at least we got ‚answers‘ to those highly upvoted questions like ‚Felix shirtless when‘ and ‚when does Realm Beyond continue‘

Iron Will is definitely overpowered. It's a shame because perks like Off the Record are fun to use however, Survivors will always use Iron Will as it's just better in every single way. It either needs to be active whenever injured but not at 100% or make it like Lucky Break and give it a set duration.
I also think that normal breathing should still be heard.
2 -
Honestly just fixing IW would be fine. Half the time injured survivors just make 0 noise altogether: no footsteps, no breathing, nothing. Fix that and I'm happy.
1 -
Agreed
1 -
And of course, Boon Totems mean that now scratch marks and auras are going to vanish for large sections of the map.
2 -
Just like stridor.
0 -
ehhhh iron will is good against every killer don't know why you think it only works against spirit lol.
4 -
This perk alone negates an entire game mechanic and requires ZERO effort from Survivors, it should not exist at all.
Killers don't get a perk that permanently takes away their red glow, why the blue hell should Survivor be totally silent even when injured? Stupid.
1 -
Current Iron Will is so utterly overpowered it's not even funny.
5 -
just listen to footsteps. I disagree with those who say footsteps audio are inconsistent because that hasn't been my experience at all
1 -
Swap the effects that reduces the grunts of Iron Will and No Mither.
Iron Will: reduced by 75% (No Mither on PTB 5.3.0)
No Mither: reduced by 100%
2 -
The only problem I have with Iron Will is that it removes the breathing when injured. If they just make it so that grunts of pain and breathing aren't the same sound file or whatever, then I think IW will be fine.
1 -
They would have to fix some survivor's volume. Jeff / Bill / Jane really need Iron WIll.
2 -
I think it should allow breathing even injured but that's it.
0 -
You think that Iron will negating breathing is fine? Even though it says grunts of pain?
3 -
The biggest strength is not in chase but when survivor preemptively hide.
Then there are no scratch marks, the blood is faded except directly below there feet and they crouch behind cover so "use you eyes" is also no option.
And there is absolutely no downside to it for a 100% benefit. Most of the killer perks that work that way have only slight gains like brutal strength, agitation or iron grasp. Perks without any downside or interactive aspect but don't have nearly the same strength.
0 -
Not even a nerf, just make it work like it should and it would be fine. If you're injured it removes grunts of pain AND breathing, even though its only supposed to do the first.
