Twins Buffs, QoL Adjustments, AI, and Add-on Pass (Ideas)

This is what I'm doing instead of homework. Oops.

Anyway, been playing Twins lately. They've always been an appealing Killer to me, but they've always felt incomplete/clunky to use. So, I've come up with a few buffs/nerfs and adjustments to make playing them more fluid and fun! These are all interchangeable so don't get all finicky that I'm pushing for a radical change in a Killer.

Buffs *

  • Charlotte can see Victor's aura at ALL TIMES, including when he's on a Survivor's back.

This one just sounds like a nice change to me. It doesn't feel very punishing to get pounced on by Victor (which is mostly what this section is about), so I figured this could create an incentive to punt that child sooner. Yes, I know you can just listen for Victor's whiny ass. And yes, his aura DOES get revealed after a little while. But why not just simplify it so you feel more in control of your power?


  • Charlotte moves 5% faster while chasing the Survivor with Victor on their back.

It would make sense lore-wise, and since Charlotte lacks a chasing ability herself, I feel like this would suffice. A few add-ons down there play into this idea as well.


AI Twins (?)

This part is a tad bit radical, but worth looking into to get the full experience of being in two places at once. I'll make it simple.

  • VICTOR AI: Victor remains stationary, but if a Survivor comes within his field of view, he'll lose his vulnerability and charge up a Pounce. If the Survivor stays in his sight for too long or gets too close while he sees them, he'll pounce on them. Survivors will have to sneak up behind him in order to crush him safely. (Edit: There's a 3-second grace period before AI Victor becomes hostile to prevent inescapable situations in chase.)
  • CHARLOTTE AI: Her AI is your basic M1 Killer AI. She'll patrol generators, investigate noises, and chase Survivors. She will not pick up downed Survivors on her own though. HOWEVER, the player CAN switch to Victor (if he's already been unbound) while carrying a Survivor, and the AI Charlotte will hook the Survivor while the player controls Victor on the prowl.


Quality of Life :)

  • Keeping the Power Button held while unbinding Victor will release him WITHOUT switching out of Charlotte.

I've had moments where I wish I could just place Victor somewhere without having to go through the whole process. This change will alleviate that little annoyance :)


  • Give Victor the ability to vault windows.

That's literally it. There are some vaults that can't be ran around, and it's really inconvenient that a 1-foot tall baby can launch themselves across a football stadium can't climb over a 3-foot tall barrier.


  • Give Charlotte the ability to recall Victor while he's idle (unless he has eyes on a Survivor with his aforementioned AI).

It's kinda frustrating when you trap Victor somewhere where he can't easily make it back to Charlotte (looking at you, Thompson House). If you can just call Victor back, it would make life so much easier.


  • (RADICAL) When Victor discovers a Survivor in a locker, there's a short window where Victor can tap the Attack Button to instantly pounce on the Survivor and force them out of the locker.

Even though BHVR tried to give Victor some locker insurance, they still continue to be a very optimal counter to Victor if Charlotte isn't close enough to catch the Survivor in time. With this change, the locker search will still work the same, but it gives players the option to just settle for a health state if they can't follow up in time.


  • (RADICAL) Allow Victor to utilize Charlotte's perks.

No, don't expect to see Victor popping gens and shredding pallets with Spirit Fury (as entertaining as it sounds). The perks are Charlotte's, so they will only be visible on the HUD and from Charlotte's position. For example, if Charlotte uses BBQ and switches the Victor 40 meters away, he will still see the Survivors despite being near them. The main use of this change is for noise notifications, auras, and just general perk awareness (like hexes).


compensation nerfs :(

If all of these changes were to go through, Twins would be insanely good and would need to be toned down to not be overwhelming.


  • Victor's movement speed is REDUCED from 150% (6.0 m/s) to 130% (5.2 m/s).

Just a generic nerf to add some counterplay to the speedy little demon that is Victor. Since getting hit by Victor will be so punishing now, coupled with the fact that he can vault windows too, Survivors should have an opportunity to outsmart Victor before he gets too close.


  • While idling, Victor only reveals Survivors within his line of sight, regardless of if they're crouching or not.

Because of his AI change, Victor will only be able to sentry one direction, meaning the Survivors will need to sneak up behind him in order to crush him. As a result, he will not reveal them if he cannot see them, so the Twins player will have to pay attention to where they leave him.


  • Victor's recharge time is DOUBLED if he is crushed while idle or after missing a pounce.

Some extra punishment for messing up. Play baby better idiot <--- (says the guy who can't land pounces to save his life)


  • When Victor is latched onto a Survivor, the progress for removing him does not reset if it's interrupted (but it will regress quickly if left alone for too long).

Since Charlotte gets a speed buff while chasing someone with Victor, it'll be in their best interest to remove him as quickly as possible so they don't get run down by an enraged, speedy Charlotte. This change enables them to do so.


Add-on Pass :D

(yes, this factors in the above changes. they can be altered if changed as per one's request.)

Toy Sword
  • Increases Pounce charge speed by 25%. (This also affects AI Victor's charge speed.)
  • UNCHANGED


Tiny Fingernail
  • Reduces the time it takes to unbind Victor by 50%.
  • UNCHANGED


Madeleine's Glove
  • Increases Victor's shrieking radius by 4 meters.
  • Rarity reduced to Common, unchanged otherwise.


Cat Figurine
  • Increases Victor's field of view by 15 degrees.


UNCOMMON

Soured Milk
  • While idle, Victor's shrieks are silent unless he spots a Survivor.
  • Rarity increased to Uncommon.


Cat's Eye
  • Victor's shrieks are silenced while Pounce is fully charged.
  • UNCHANGED


Bloody Black Hood
  • Switching to Charlotte is 0.5 seconds faster.
  • UNCHANGED


Stale Biscuit
  • Reduces the cooldown of missed Pounces by 0.5 seconds.
  • Reduces the cooldown of successful Pounces by 1 second.
  • Rarity reduced to Uncommon.


Rusted Needle
  • Survivors who get pounced on or downed by Victor suffer from Mangled and Hemorrhage until fully healed.
  • Rarity reduced to Uncommon.


RARE

Weighty Rattle
  • Downed Survivors who hear Victor's shrieks crawl 50% slower, recover 35% slower, and have their auras hidden from their teammates.
  • Increases Victor's shrieking radius by 2 meters.


Sewer Sludge
  • Increases the time it takes to remove Victor by 6 seconds. (up from 2 seconds)
  • Increases the time it takes to push Victor off of lockers by 6 seconds.


Ceremonial Candelabrum
  • Standing pallets within 16 meters of an idle Victor will be blocked by the Entity.
  • Rarity increased from Uncommon to Rare.


Baby Teeth
  • Downing a Survivor with Victor on their back inflicts Broken for 90 seconds.
  • Rarity increased from Uncommon to Rare.


Madeleine's Scarf
  • Increases Victor's movement speed by 10%.
  • UNCHANGED


VERY RARE

Victor's Soldier
  • While Victor is attached to a Survivor, Charlotte recovers from pallet stuns 50% faster and breaks pallets and breakable walls 20% faster.


Spinning Top
  • Survivors who get pounced on or downed by Victor drop their items.
  • UNCHANGED


Forest Stew
  • When Victor downs a Survivor, his movement speed is increased by 50% until he latches onto a Survivor or switches back to Charlotte.


Drop of Perfume
  • Survivors who hear Victor's shrieks are Oblivious, and remain afflicted for 6 seconds once out of range.
  • Increases Victor's shriek radius by 2 meters.


ULTRA RARE

Silencing Cloth
  • Charlotte remains Undetectable for 20 seconds after switching back from or releasing Victor (without switching).
  • UNCHANGED


Iridescent Pendant
  • When Victor is crushed by a Survivor through any means, all Survivors who heard his shrieks scream, have their auras revealed for 6 seconds, and become Exposed for 30 seconds.
  • Increases Victor's shriek radius by 2 meters.
  • Increases the time it takes for Victor to regrow on Charlotte by 16 seconds.
