Problem with Boon Totems

As the survivor main, personally I think it's way too overpowered. Killer has to apply pressure on 4 survivors at the same time to win the game and that is very difficult. Survivors have only 1 objective to win - genrush. Killer has to pressure all survivors, kick and patrol gens, move around the map correctly and much much more, so when you add searching for totems only to make survivors not too overpowered, killer will loose almost every game.

Boon: Circle of Healing allows survivors to self care and heal others with insane speed. Whenever survivor bless totem in place, where there's no gens, and survivors 3-gen themselves, all of them will go there to heal and killer will have no breathing space 'cause survivors will be always fully healed. So to counter it, killer has to go all the way across the map to click one totem and in this case, give survivors free gen.

Boon: Shadow Step makes survivors almost invisible on maps like Lery's, Police Station or even regular opened maps. If survivor choose the correct place for a boon totem, killer has to find it to be able to track survivors that try to loose the line of sight.

All in all, Boon Perks are too strong and everyone will play with them to make killer busy by searching for totems. Perks for killers that allow them to detect totems ? No sense - takes 1 slot to counter boon perks. It should be changed to make it more balanced. Maybe killer should be able to see aura of all totems and Hex: Undying should recover Hexes by just clicking them ?

Let me know what do you think about these perks.

They nerf they received was good enough for it to be fine imo. I do feel as if Circle of Healing needs to be toned down a little bit but at the very least, it could shake the meta which is what we’ve been asking for.

As if only you're in the Boon zone, you can heal your self at 100% speed without requiring team mate is already powerful. Need to remove healing other at 200% speed.

There's still going to be plenty of inner strength gamers out there.

I don't see boon totems being that big of a deal.

it's pretty good for killers in my opinion. Let survivors waste their time booning totems that can be quenched in a second if I'm bothered to. Allows them to self care in range? idc. just don't give them the opportunity to heal maybe? scratch marks will be annoying if you lose LoS but will still have blood so idc about that too much either.

As others have said, once they get adepts I'll be shocked to see any of these replace meta perks

You just stated, that suvivors "have one objective, gen rush". Boon totems change this, now they have a second objective if they want to run Boon totems. Not to mention time spent to reset them, as well and an increase in healing verses just doing a gen, so they actually provide the killer more time as people will be finally spending time to "just do bones."

But, I agree with others, you will see them for a month and everyone will go back to their preferred builds.

I am fine with the new changes with the boon totem (as a killer main). Lets see what comes to pass once it goes gold.

Are boon totems still infinite? Like if a survivor blesses a totem, i find and remove it. Can they just bless it again?

No I think they should leave it at 100%. It’s not like this perk can be used anywhere on the map.

Nope. It eliminates an entire playstyle and reinforces the strongest thing a survivor can do.

The survivors don't have this objective. *One* survivor has this fourteen-second objective. The others are still progressing the win state while the fourth survivor is giving them a fifth and sixth perk slot.

Thats my biggest issue with boon totems. I cant relite ruin or devour hope. Why arent their totem perks high risk like mine?

Because they aren't designed to be. They're designed to be renewable safe areas the survivor will want to leave their objective to take advantage of, and that's why they're a good idea for the game. Time survivors spend travelling to a boon totem or lighting a boon totem to begin with is time they're not spending on a generator.

Much can be said about whether this'll work as well as it could due to poor totem placement and other factors, but the answer isn't to make them single use, or even limited use. They have a very specific idea in mind that people who claim they should be permanently breakable are completely ignoring.

While i agree anything that takes a survivor off a gen is good. The issue is killer already has enough tasks to worry about. Adding more stuff to survivor is good but killer is already pressed for time.

I'm not sure how much of a concern that will be, honestly. Remember that the killer only has to juggle multiple things because their only objective - the survivors - are spread out among those things. If multiple survivors are in one place, that place is where the killer should be spending their extremely precious time anyway.

to be fair relighting them helps killer couse survivors wont spent time on gens and i after some geds get done you have smaller area to worry about those bost and stuffing out totems

You do realize that killers can hear those boon totems, right? And If I'm not mistaken, they can hear it from a 20m (or a little more) distance and snuff them out in less than 2 seconds. Plus, to bless a totem, survivors need 26 seconds (again, if I'm not mistaken). That's a lot of time. Everyone in the trial also receive an auditory warning, and that includes the killer. I honestly fail to see how OP they are, weighing pros and cons alike.

It takes 24 seconds to bless a hex totem. And I think with thrill of the hunt it’s 36 seconds.

ah.... dbd community never fails to be stupid and toxic as ever, even in the comments, no. boon totems are too much, the amount of pressures survivors can do to a killer now is insane, who is the killer now?

    boon totems

    flashlights

    granades

    gen granades

    Decisive strike

    killer's autoaim lunge abuse

    loops

    keys

    buffed up toolboxes

    etc.

to state some, as a 4 vs 1 game the killers nowday have it really gross, specially in high ranks. you are forced to carry lighborn and use non lunge attacks against experienced players cause they will just abuse the autohit flaws with 360s blablabla, the game is pretty biased right now in survivor favor. nuff said, i have no more to argue with this ######### fanbase. ta-da
