RIP BBQ, RIP injured survivor

See you next week when all the new content releases :))

Well there really isn't a reason to nerf bbq. Anyone who thinks its aura reading is op is clearly just a hold m1 on gen andy that never gets in a locker to hide their aura.
2 -
Exactly my thoughts! So many killers will say they only use it for the BP, lol. We know this ain't true. 🙄
1 -
I’ve been told on many occasions by killer mains that bbq is ONLY used for bp…so this really shouldn’t be a problem.
1 -
Nope not at all....Not like Nurses, Whispers, lethal, thrilling, I'm all ears, etc aren't better/more reliable or anything. I swear half of you are bots.

Does the mid-patch release tomorrow?

If only killers could have a perk called totem roulette where when a blessing is put on the field a 5th random perk pops up or hex to offset it somehow that way survivors can put too many on the field so as to not buff the killer too much.

Be my guest. Both sides complain anyway
0 -
I only use it for the BP because most people just hide from it anyways. But BBQ might have ironically countered Boons had they not added a counter to the counter.
0 -
You say that but veterans legit leave all the time because of changes like this.
0 -
Nice work bhvr. Why are you annihilating killers without stopping and thinking about killers.
0 -
Realistically boones won’t do much to change the meta anyway. Nothing to quit the game over
2 -
I mean people thought the same for lucky break and that didn't exactly age well. The aura thing is definitely a bit of a worry but if you use thrilling instead of bbq then it's not that bad. Plus I'm pretty sure most people use BBQ for bp then aura reading. I'm sure people won't run it that much in a month or so.
To be honest I'm more worried about the free healing boon.

I wish they would incorporate the BP bonus into the base kit for killer(and do an equivalent thing for survivors) so I can stop taking BBQ. Literally the only reason I take it is because I think 'Half BPs for a game? No way, I can't do that.'

BBQ has aura reads? Here I was just collecting bp stacks

Imagine making a fuss about Boon Totems and nobody plays them a week after release.
Cannot be happening, impossible!
2 -
I mean they likely won't now with the more.balanced versions that will reach live but let's be honest they absolutely would have been awful to go against if they launched as they were in the PTB. Plus you know SBMM thats why I quit, that and not a killer I liked being released since blight and all the friends I played survivor with quit the game months ago.
Before you ask why I'm still on the forums, its because there's no other successful game like dbd so until one comes along im just going to have to hope the game goes in a direction that would make the game fun for me again.

Actually, it's worse than that. If you have both of them you can stack them onto the same totem.

This feels like power struggle outcry, everyone saying it would be op but it smells like an overrated perk.
The first heal will need around 45 seconds (lets say 5 secs to find a totem, 24 to bless it, 16 to heal) and that's not counting the unfortunate occasion where the killer will pop the totem and you will be stuck with half a heal and wasted 30 seconds. In that case self care is already better which is all i have to say.
1 -
Agreed.
Off subject question do you play on console? If so which one?

good maybe the meta sluts will use something else now

Yes I’m an Xbox player

These boon totems don't take care of tunneling, camping and slugging.
Survivor meta perks are a reaction to the meta tactics that Killers use. If those perks didn't exist, there would be 3 highly used Killer tactics that would have no counter.

Made a similar post. MMR made me quit because at the highest level this game is too unbalanced. The Dev's refuse to listen so I've been gone for close to 2 months now. It's awesome not being stressed out playing a game.

If you ever looking for a partner hmu. I don't usually play with people often (Prefer solo's for some crazy reason). Be playing Blight and Twins tonight so I'm sure I will get bored with that.

One small silver lining to the idea that people will run Boon: Shadow Step is that I already like to run Bloodhound on some killers and Bloodhound isn't affected by a lack of scratch marks or auras. Of course you still have to injure someone first for Bloodhound to help you track them, but once they're injured it's really difficult for them to hide from you if they stay injured, even if they crawl and leave no scratches or have that boon.
I'm kind of eccentric though, I know I'm in the minority with Bloodhound. 🤷♂️

Haven't touched DbD since :).
Where is my "be proud" sticker ?!

Good on ya! Here’s your sticker

Why can't they see that this ######### Makeala and her perks need a re thought. They might as well taken a notebook from survivor mains with this addition. They really don't like killer mains or players
0 -
They didn't JUST nerf it, they nerfed it to be completely useless because they made a boon that makes survivors undetectable.

Killer: "I only use BBQ for the extra Bloodpoints..."
*Survivors get protection from aura reading*
Killer: "BBQ is ded =( "

Yeah, the game will close up shop because everyone runs BBQ, and every Survivor will be within range of a Boon to shield themselves, and there's no way to track Survivors other than scratch marks. There are no perks that allow them to heal, suppress tracking, cover themselves, or anything like that.

A) That would require survivors to drop a meta perk to take a boon perk. They would have to drop 2 if they want both of those boon perks. I don't see that being a common thing.
B) Setting up a boon totem takes time, thus slowing gen progress. Also, if they have to keep running back to that area to heal, that will also take time, and slow gen progress.
C) If they take the perk, they are going to want to use it, meaning they will be searching for totems. Again, more time not spent doing gens.
D) If you stomp out their totem, they have to go looking for it or another one again, and bless it. Again, more time not spent doing gens.
E) If they choose to bless the totem instead of destroy it, they leave the door wide open for NOED.
You are only looking at one side of the situation. It is a risk vs reward situation.

A) 2 perks out of 16... not a big deal lol.
B) Once settled, the killer will have to loose time to "cleansed" it, survivors will get all the time they have lost back (dropping the chase to find the totem, cleansed it, find a survivor, chase again = like 20 seconds, minimum). Also, you heal way faster so the time you loose going in the area is not really lost, you also save a perk slot to equip something else that can help doing generators or to survive (instead of using self care for exemple) = way more time saved. Not talking about the no marks area where the killer won't be able to do anything but drop the chase.
C) Ye searching for a totem at high MMR, of course, it might take 30 minutes to find one when you know every spots... Moreover, half the time you spawn next to one...
D) Already talked about it in B, time used to enchant it is worth it as it will help a lot to gain time during chases and healing.
E) Noed... such a big deal. Also NOED needs a boon totem to be activated so if the totem is a boon one, noed won't be on it. Noed is a game changer only against an unorganized team. If players are a minimum coordinated, Noed will get you 1k... meaningless.

For those saying it wouldn't be meta, some SWF have already messaged me to tell me the new totems are OP 😂.
And some killers have already posted that it's now even more unplayable for them.
Edit : SWF (1 high skilled, 2 average and 1 low skill) have 3+ escapes in all trials they have played for now. That joke...
