as a lot of attempts changing the interactions with the hatch, like once in a ptb where the killer is able to close the hatch but then no one had any idea on what they should do next perhaps like fix another gen...
I'd like to suggest that the hatch should never open automatically even if you're the last survivor but instead making you going around and look for a key to open the hatch, so in a way the hatch and a hatch key will spawn when there's one survivor left, after finding the key, they can just go to the hatch and interact with it as if you had a skeleton key or a dull key. To pick up this key you just pick it up like a normal item (to make it easier to spot the key can spawn on some sort of pedestal)
