This is the worst update yet. Here’s why...
This update brought a new survivor. Mikaela. She brought mayhem with her (we’ll come back to that). almost reminds me of old Laurie.
A lot of killer nerfs were also implemented, effectively overshadowing very minor buffs/quality of life changes to trash tier killers (trapper, ghostface, plague etc.).
Here are the most notable f ups from this patch and I seriously don’t recall a worse one in the 3 years I have been here with bhvr.
spirit;
this was a long time coming unfortunately. It makes killer play more boring since now you really only have nurse and maybe blight left. But it was always gonna happen. Strong survivors knew how to counter her but spirit was still strong cause she could actually mindgame effectively. Now that’s gone.
She lost her speed, lost her element of surprise and is really no longer viable. As a matter of fact she’s a blind wraith who’s easier to hear coming.
wraith;
just...just...just why? Who complained about wraith? We asked for buffs for years and now you are making him worse than he’s been in a very long time. Very weird. And all seeing was and ultra rare add on, wasn’t even that strong. Now it’s useless. Just a freaking weird change.

was trapper ever really that strong with bag add ons? No. He was still one of the worst ones. But thanks for saving me a brown add on I guess. Idk.

the boon totems are now one of the strongest perks in the game. And with these perks comes a few nerfs to killer perks actually.
circle of healing;
It’s essentially a 5th and 6th perk for survivors. It works for all survivors in the trial. That’s insanely powerful, meaning that EVERYONE have botany, we’ll make it(double team) and self care at all times. That’s one of the strongest perks in the game now. Huge nerf to sloppy and the hit and run play style. medkits were already broken, so why not buff them? Jesus this perk is insanely overpowered.
shadow step;
its lucky break but forever and without taking a health state. It’s also distortion. And worst of all, it works for EVERYONE. Not as strong circle of healing obviously but still really strong. And obviously makes aura reading perks like nurse’s calling and bbq useless.
performance issues;
console is broken again and game crashes all the time. But worst of all, the game literally gets stuck in loading screen. This is a huge one and a new one. Mainly for killers, worst on old gen but prevalent on all platforms. You literally can’t play the game half the time.
this is the worst update they have ever made. 5.2.0 looks like a masterpiece next to it. Idk if it’s incompetence, cruelty or just overworked developers that inspire this terrible game development. Bhvr have always proven to be in over their heads but this is the apex of it. This update is terrible. It’s really really bad.

Agreed with everything. Also the boons seem to not have height restrictions I believe I saw used on meat plant so they had the whole map secured

Given the range restrictions of boons, I don't see the issue, I played survivor last night with 3 mik's on most of my games and half the time the boons were out of my range, I also felt that the killers were lingering nearer them too so its an added risk to be near them.

Plague, ghostface, trapper are good.
Pig addons was good changes overall. Tampered timer was kinda broken and that comes from killer main, so I don't mind that nerfed.
I agree with Wraith, Deathslinger and Circle of healing.
Shadowstep won't get into meta imo, but it would be really annoying meme build for SWF like sabbo builds etc. RPD offering + 4x shadowstep will be hell to face.
Bugs are problem of course.

Shadowstep is meme, but Circle of healing is broken if used right.
You don't want to stack them on multiple survivors, that is not "extra" perk for others, you wanna have 1 player with boon and you will have option to always recover solo. It's basically self-care + we'll make it for every other survivor. It gets more broken on multi-layer maps, because you have basically double range.
Another problem is that there is not really reason to leave gens for it, survivors will just do it again. I think killer should be able to destroy that totem, so you have to find new one. It would be close to Inner Strength with that change and you would have to make some effort in using it. It would still be way better Inner Strength.
It's also weird that survivors can over-write hex, but plaything or noed can't do it with boons, which just sucks.
