Boon totems are just adding more Stress to already Micromanaging KIllers
I find it difficult enough to pressure 4 people off of generators and now you expect me to be able to do that AND somehow hunt down (lets be honest) the horrible totem placement to find and break a boon totem as well? The thing i do not like about them is it punishes all killers (and one boon isn't even working yet). The strong killers I could see it being fine as they can possibly make up for it, but it just makes the weaker killers that much weaker.
I think this leads to a very dangerous precedent if you continues to add more things for killers to do. This game already puts a load of pressure on a killer already and if you keep putting more on the plate for us to do it will push many people away from killer i think.
Boon totems should have a 1 min cooldown once a killer breaks the boon. It is too strong to just have one person keep reapplying it while your busy trying to finish a down, or check on gens. In general on the survivor side i think it is an awesome perk, but as a killer it is just almost enough to tip the scales and make me quit killer all together.

It's easy to listen for and find the Boon Totems if you have a Headset with the shift in volume using your angle of approach to determine the Totems direction. (Not to mention a headset gives you directional audio compared to TV speakers.
However if you don't have that it's poorly designed.
(Edit: And if it's a mutli-floor map, it can be a bit BS)

The issue is not finding the totems per se. It is just already killer time management is a mess and it only gets worse having to do this.

So long as you're snuffing out the Totems along your patrol and can find them quickly, snuffing out the Boon Totem nets you a time benefit. (14s for a Survivor to place the Totem vs the ~6s shift of your route)

i run detective's hunch on mikaela so i always plunk the blue in the most devastatingly obnoxious spot possible
like 2nd floor of coal tower
oooor anywhere on 2nd floor of midwich basically (especially on a side with a lot of gens)
oooooor anywhere on rpd (this map, this map.....)
ooooooooor the asylum building
or hell just any giant cluster of high-end tiles, shadowstep guarantees you an escape if they stop to dunk the totem and that's worth the 14 sec and in the meantime outside of being chased into it circle of healing gives you easy resets
that being said, solo people still haven't gotten a clue and will destroy a main building totem right in front of me as i spam teabag/point at them and deny a high-end placement and get the entire team killed vs a killer that absolutely wouldn't've been able to deal with scratch denial
