Should they remove killing self on Hook?
Its just DCing with extra steps at this point.

They made a good step in right direction by making hook suiside not instant. I'm fine with current system. I don't see much hook suicides in my matches currently.
17 -
It’s fine the way it is right now
21 -
Yes.
1 -
Of course not lol
6 -
Definitely not. I want to enjoy my games. And if I don't enjoy the match I'm in, I want to be able to get to the next match as soon as possible.
35 -
Yes. They should remove the d/c from match option as well. If you need out that badly you can close the game.
2 -
They should remove the option to minimize and CTRL ALT DELETE as well. Nothing says fun like being basically malware that takes your PC hostage.

I've seen several survivors struggle to second stage, try too kill themselves, get saved, and then just run at the Killer.
4 -
I've seen several Survivors trying to kill themselves only to be rescued. They then proceed to run straight at the Killer to get hooked again.
1 -
Lets take it a step further and add a bleed out button when slugged. Your bleed out timer doubles in speed while pressed.
7 -
Remove camping and we will call it even.
5 -
They should remove forcing players to stay in a game they are not having fun in.
10 -
Agree'd. Just let Killer's mori the Survivor on the first down. That'll remove camping entirely.
4 -
Why?
0 -
I generally sacrifice if my team insists on being lemmings to come save me when my kindred literally shows the killer almost giving me an Eskimo kiss.
If they are a competent team who actually get the job done it's not a big issue, but 9 times out of ten they are basically just throwing themselves on the floor as slugs. If a killer wants to camp me, I'll endure it to allow team mates to do gens. It is not a killers duty to give me a fun game, and if i am camped i will accept it as part of the game, but neither is it my duty to serve as bait for a stealth camp ghostface's mincing machine.
3 -
Give two stages like stage one. Same 4% base
0 -
No. You can't force someone to stay in a game they're not having fun in.
15 -
As others have stated, unfortunately there's not a whole lot you can do about it. Let's say you get rid of them being able to suicide on hooks, then what?
If the survivor insists on leaving, they will either seek out the killer, just go AFK (so they're gone for you anyway), or worst case scenario maliciously go after their fellow survivors (fail skill checks, slam pallets, sandbag people, etc).
It sucks when you get some selfish jerk like that but selfish jerks are gonna selfish jerk so *shrug*
4 -
I don't see any reason why that should be allowed 😂
0 -
NO!
You can't force players to stay in a match they don't want to.

I agree, you can’t literally keep people from closing the app, but the automatic time outs after a disconnect are reasonable because, if you do need to run off unexpectedly once in a blue moon, there’s no reason a few minutes time out would effect you. And if you repeatedly disconnect then you’re causing serious problems for the other players in your matches over and over so longer suspensions are a reasonable response to discourage that behavior.

Yes, we seriously need to crack down on the entitlement.
I'd go as far as adding a ban like DCs. It's the exact same thing, it ruins the game for 3 other survivors 100% all it does is let the killer get a hook.
I dont know what kind of people support the childish behaviour of "this games not going my way so I give up" or "I was downed first so I give up" etc.
Why is it okay to f over so many players, why is it okay to act childish if you're having a bad game but expect killers etc. To keep playing as normal if they arent
Double standards and entitlement. I hate it, its childish.

It should have some kind of penalty when there are still other 3 survivors alive.
0 -
So if you're tunneled and camped until you're the first to die. Do you get punished the same?
1 -
You can't have been tunneled if you're still on your first hook, and if you're camped at least give your teammates the chance to finish the gens.
2 -
What if you get rescued by people without BT and you dont have DS? Literally farmed off hook twice? Do you get punished for dying first?
1 -
You didn't understand what I said. I suggested people who suicide on first hook (aka try to kobe) while there are still other 3 survivors alive should be penalized.
1 -
Ok and? They obviously don't want to be in the match any longer. You saving them isn't going to change that, if anything you get some altruism points for yourself. But if someone is not enjoying themselves, they should be able to get out and into another match.
2 -
So Survivors should be punished for using an in game mechanic that is actively promoted by the Developers and has perks built around it?
5 -
Absolutely not. Players should have the choice to opt out of a match they are not enjoying.
4 -
First question - Why?
Second question - How?
0 -
It is not "actively promoted" by the devs. In fact the in game tutorial tells you should only try to kobe if there's no more hope someone is coming to save you. Of course an exception would have to been made for Deliverance and Slippery Meat.
0 -
So why even have the option then?
0 -
I find if I don't utterly crush survivors and give them hope I'm not some tunneling/camping ahole ...they tend to stick around for the entire match even if they are still losing badly.
So the hook suicide as it is, is fine imo.
2 -
If you need out that badly 5 minute ban wouldn't matter.
1 -
Okay, and what if the other survivors have decided to team up with the killer to farm and grief you?
If you try to work on a gen, the killer stops you.
If you try to run away, the survivors bodyblock you and point out your hiding spot.
If you try to let the killer hook you so you can leave the match, the survivors farm you off the hook.
If you're on death hook, the killer just slugs you.
If you just lay there, the survivors pick you up.
If you try to hold sprint to deny being healed and try to crawl away, the killer repeatedly picks you up and drops you until you're on your feet again.
----
You should NOT have the choice to remove yourself from that situation?? That's fogged up...
2 -
Honestly who do you play that this happens. That often that you would be concerned with a DC penalty. Nice straw man though
0 -
Just increase base chance of self unhook, and the survivor is forced to spend more time in the current trial
0 -
They should re enable dc penalty.
0 -
So give survivors a buff to self hooking?
1 -
Yo can you throw those survivors my way when I'm playing Leatherface? Thanks.
0 -
It's already been re-enabled. Now we're back to players just going afk, suiciding on hook, and sabotaging the game.
1 -
How about I throw you the idiot team who decided to go investigate the basement when we had already won because the Leatherface clearly didn't want to judge the butt dance Olympics and just wanted to sit down there. All three of them on the basement hook and you can bet my happy butt wasn't going down there to save them.
But yeah, for some reason the face camping is seen as a challenge which I suppose it is. But if you don't have the skill or at least the perks to pull it off you're just feeding the camp.
0 -
Yea, but I wouldn't call it a buff. If they upped the base unhook to 10%, survivors would have about a 1 in 3 chance of getting off the hook with self unhook. Currently, survivors have about a 1 in 9ish chance of getting a self unhook.
This would kill hook DCs but still make self unhooks risky even with 3% offerings.
Numbers might look like this:
Current self unhook chance, no offering: 12% chance of success or 1 in 9ish
Current self unhook with offering: 20% or 1 in 5
Current self unhook, monstrous shrine: No chance.
Current self unhook 4x salty lips and monstrous shrine: 3% chance of self unhook
Proposed self unhook chance, no offering: 27% or 1 in 4
Proposed self unhook with offering: 34% or 1 in 3
Proposed self unhook, offering, monstrous shrine: still no chance
Proposed self unhook and 4x salty lips and monstrous shrine: 20% or 1 in 5
Also I'm bad at math.

If it's not a buff how would it kill first hook suicides.
0 -
Yes, they should.
0 -
You can call it a buff if you want to, it technically is a positive gain for the self unhook chances. I'd call it a "fix"; sometimes devs "fix" things with a buff or nerf.
Nomenclature tbh
0 -
no they can just leave that be.
0 -
It's a buff, a fix is what they did with dead hard.
The amount of people that would potentially use a increased chances in a self unhook is vastly higher than the amount it would deter from 1 hook suicide.
All the person would have to do if they did get unhooked is go afk and wait for the killer to hook then again.
