PC: Tome II - Reckoning, Level I, Dead Hardy Challenge Bugged

I was going through the challenges in the second tome yesterday and got to the Dead Hardy challenge. ("Use Dead Hard to avoid a basic attack by a nearby killer 1 time(s).") I tried to complete it in 5 different games and in every game I used Dead Hard and avoided getting hit as the killer swung. Still the challenge didn't complete. I believe the new patch with Dead Hard broke this challenge.
