DC bans shouldn't exist
If I received this game for free, I would not be upset about the DC bans at all. The fact I paid for the game itself (not including cosmetics) should be down right illegal to have a system that prevents your customers from playing the game after they had to pay for the base game itself. DC bans are extremely bad for paid for video games and should never be implemented at all unless it's a free game. Quite literally behavior is taking your money and preventing your rights to play the game the way you wish. So what somebody DCs? An alternative would be to go idle in the game and there is no punishment for that. DC bans are useless, absolutely ineffective and completely obliterating your rights as a consumer to play the game you paid for as you want to.

It should be downright illegal for your temper tantrums to have the potential to ruin the match for the four other paying customers playing with you.
You know, which you do every time you disconnect.
Grow up. DC penalties are necessary. If you can't be arsed to play the game properly, you shouldn't be allowed to play at all. Stop ruining matches for everyone because you're selfish.

You are forgetting this game is a sports discipline on the same level as DOTA2 and CS:GO, so we have to approach this topis with all seriousness. This game was never casual, it was made for tournaments and top tier competitive play.
Well, I may have exaggerated a bit: DOTA and CS have casual modes without DC penalties, while DbD has none, so DbD is even more competitive oriented!

Bruh if even 1 survivor dc's then the game is basically over and the killer will get an easy W
You can't just dc when you don't like the killer your playing against because that will incourage people to keep dcing until they get a rank 20 wraith and ruin the game for everyone

Well said 👏 I'm tired of people dc in my team you guys ruin it for the rest of use if you have somthing to do don't join a lobby and if you get down the first time you shouldn't dc like a cry baby you get off that hook and you survive like a real Man!!!
If not no whants you pussys in the game. Go play with Dolls.

Exactly this right here. Quit crying and play the game. Don't like that you can't just dc? Alright go play a single player game that you can ragequit all day and won't affect anyone but yourself

Go play a single player game if you dont like that you cant dc

As a killer there's nothing as boring as people DCing after their first down.
Learn to accept that you will be up against any one of the killers and when it's one you don't prefer, just grit your teeth and do your best. Who knows, it might be someone that's not good with that killer, maybe they were lucky with that first down, perhaps it will be your easiest win in days, but you'll never know if you quit in the first minute.
If I were in charge the DC ban would be longer by default, since you ruin the game for four other people.

People aren't even grasping the OP's point. Disconnecting is simply one way out of a match a player refuses to participate in any longer, for whatever reason. The result is the same as if the player stays idle in the match, or even worse if they go around trolling by throwing pallets, failing skill checks where teammates are, etc. The funny thing is, those players will never see any punishment. The point is, you can't force someone to participate in a trial they no longer want to.
The DC penalty is also holding players hostage, including streamers who have cheaters that have ways to prevent themselves from dying - even after EGC is over. The DC penalty has no place in DbD, at the very least until the cheating issue is resolved.
