Tiny artifact visible above distant downed survivors.

When a survivor gets downed at considerable distance from you, this tiny thing is visible above their model, lit up as if part of the survivor's actual model.. I've seen it happen on a variety of survivors, though I'm not sure if it's on both male and female survivors. I believe it's Meg in this picture, but not 100% sure.
Platform: PC, Steam
Of note is that this thing only appears when you're at some distance away.
